  1. I used to have a 55 but now have an 85. Wouldn't want anything less powerful..
  2. Superstatic - EDELRID Think it's 10.5mm....
  3. Badly!
  4. Classic tractor classifieds section, always a selection in the back of there...
  5. Figure 8 on single line aeris is almost like free falling anyway, but good coffee should always be drunk hot!
  6. Yes, you're describing an o-rig.... I couldn't get on with it, even though it made my hc into a similar arrangement to my old self tending split tail set up. Have a search through the hitch climber thread, it's in there somewhere...
  7. I thought it was Aldi and life support....?
  8. Sounds like the pony express board! Good idea!
  9. I guess it depends on various things. If you're using a lanyard instead of wire core you could switch dees so it crosses in front of you, that way if you do drop it will choke up. Only issue with that is your weight will pull your gubbins against the pole.... You also are into the risk zone of your only lifeline being easier to cut through. I always have an escape line, just in case someone appears with coffee!
  10. Spikes and flip line as usual on side dees then choke your climbing line onto the pole with a running bowline, feed the tail through a fig 8 clipped onto your bridge and soft lock it off. I don't use a prusik back up behind it. Which is probably naughty but I find it a pain in the arse. As I move down I slacken the line off and drop it down to by my knees and choke it back off. If (and when) I gaff out I'll only drop as far as the arc from the pole to my bridge, then I'll be hanging off the soft locked 8. I like minimal clutter so this suits me. When my iPad is charged I'll draw a picture!
  11. What was that then Ewan?
  12. Not really! When I was at college, one of my mates lived near church stretton, they'd converted the barns at their house and miles hunt from the wonderstuff lived in one. He was touring the states with his new band, vent 441 or something, and his girlfriend and I took a shine to each other. That was her. Didn't last!
  13. Took a few pages before anyone caught on...post 26!
  14. I once slept with a girl who was either his or one if his band mates' ex-girlfriends.... Does that count....?!
  15. I use this system when I take my kids climbing. Works well. Be aware of forces on anchor points though... There's some good explanation on here somewhere from Ewan and old mill, could be in the rope wrench thread....
  16. It's less about height and more about isolating limbs. Because you're not looking for a nice crotch to run the rope over cleanly you can throw your line from outside the canopy as high as you can, tie it off and up you go. I've done very little with it thus far, but in terms of the potential it has to save time, even just to get high and set the Pulleysaver to work ddrt which can be done so much more quickly, I'm sold!
  17. Aeris is no easier to bundle than XTC, throw line is the answer. Have you thought about SRT....?
  18. So Tuttle is central services....? Well I......
  19. Would you be able to assess it's desirability against a wide selection of pretty girls for me? It's an essential part of the evaluation process and I can't find anyone who's got what it takes to step up to the plate.... it's a very big responsibility....
  20. Are you not allowed to use your own SJ while you're on for them?
  21. This sounds like a good solution
  22. EVERYTHING behaves differently up north!
  23. In case rope behaves differently out there.... Good thinking...!
