  1. You forgot the best band Pedroski !!!! I'll get my coat
  2. I've just looked at your original post and it says you want to cut 12-13 inch logs for firewood . What makes you think a 40cc husky will struggle to do this ? Dont get roped into this ' semi pro ' thing meaning it cant cut big timber . If your a beginner the saw will probably outperform you ( dont take that as an insult ) .
  3. Yes , i like to take care of my saws . Autotunes ? .. Lighter , faster , more powerful , better balanced , optimal performance under any conditions .. apart from that i dont know really
  4. Sounds way way too cheap imo. 2 hours seems rushed to me aswell . You dont say how wide it is at the top ? that is the important bit that will determine how long / awkward the job will be .
  5. Theres a sort of sick pleasure dropping a tree that size onto a house ( unoccupied )
  6. Thats quite interesting you say that . I had a client last week i wouldnt say criticise but said my ad wasnt that good because i didnt have things like ' free quotation ' in it . I didnt really think stuff like that was that important nowadays but i've possibly been missing something here .
  7. Thats a very very good point Trad , Vets bills always have a call out charge whether they need to treat an animal or not , why should arborists be any different ?
  8. LOL!! When the first pictures came up i thought ' surely not ' ... It cant be that massive bugger ? ... It was ..
  9. Pos , your story is very typical of many many arborists . Your situation was identical to mine and is identical to the guy i have teamed up with lately. You may not realise at the moment , but i bet you have learned much more than you realise from your dead end job that you can take into the arb industry. All the best
  10. I thought as much because of your avatar but wanted to check just in case . I think you are at the perfect age to transition into a different sector . You are at an age where you have gathered up life experiences and common sense . Would you have been as serious about arb when you were 18 ? I know i wouldnt have and probably many others on here also . Are you going to bring out a college certificate when asked to dismantle a 100 ft poplar ? Hope you see where i'm coming from
  11. Pos , I'm curious to know what you mean by ' getting on a bit to start in the arb sector ' ? Is it really getting too late ?
  12. No way your in a minority , youve said what has needed to be said . Cant believe there are some people on here that would try and justify those retards.
  13. They said i could trial any machine i liked and that they would personally deliver anything ,even chain oil to my premises . They were absolutely not pushy trying to sell me anything which i liked and seemed very helpfull so I'll wait and see .
  14. I've just checked there and the answer is no , they havent managed to match fr jones but i'm determined to use local business whenever i can .. Its rare i use fr jones now and thats nothing to do with their service . The boys at Gammies have been excellent and they seem determined to provide arborists up here with a good service , so hears hoping .
  15. Thats a cracking looking saw Wooded I got a new 550xp delivered personally from the lovely guys from Gammies on Friday
  16. I value your judgement Hodge , nothing to be sorry about . What are the better alternatives btw ??
  17. What a kick in the rocks that was
  18. 90 all the way !! just fitted KUMHO KL71 M/T's , I'll be running you over
  19. Hi Rob , I am very interested in the response to your thread also . I was looking at it in the Clarks catalogue last night and i am probably going to end up ordering it ( may depend on the response from here though ) . I'm seriously looking at giving this SRT thing a bash
  20. Dont forget theres a possibility youve killed them rather than pollarded them . Customer needs to be aware of this .
  21. I made Elderberry wine last year and amazed myself with the clarity . I did however make it too sweet for my palate so add the sugar in stages and at the end in small doses to taste .
  22. I've forgotten what this threads about
  23. He had the three trees done by 2pm!! Quick and talented , but you got the thanks
  24. You shouldnt be offended either , the ability to go up there and do that ( albeit a bit differently) is really admirable and no way a slight on your professionalism or talent
