  3. I'm hearing of drought problems down south aswell which is always a danger sign regarding whether to pollard or not.
  4. Hate visors in the tree and glasses steam up . I've been guilty lately of not bothering with anything till last week when my eyelid became quite badly swollen as a result of some sawdust. I preach H&S on here religiously so i sort of had it coming

  8. Most people wont have climbed before , thats why they go on the course ! Its basic climbing youll be fine

  11. Agreed , havent read the book but i felt he was a bit of a waster. A much better film could be made about Susan Butcher... like Chris arrived in Alaska with nothing but became a legend in her lifetime by winning the Iditarod sled dog race 3 times in a row , a tragic tale for those interested but a TRUE heroine..

  15. Where do you get the 2500 from ? 40x15= 600 unless i've read it wrong .
  16. For most people the climbing is just a natural progression from doing ground work . There are exeptions of course but some time groundying for a climber is the best way to approach things imo . The only advice on the course itself is to listen to what the instructor is telling you , simples....

  22. Thats good to know that colleges feel them worthy of use. Was the device attached to the casualties harness or was it used from the ground ?

Hi everyone , I've ordered up a Gri Gri 2 rappell device as part of a small , extremely lightweight rappell set up for my wife when she works away for extended periods ( usually in high rise apartments in some countries with poor HSE records ). I was hoping to use this as an aerial rescue kit for my own tree work aswell. Is this a practical set-up or are there other uses which i can put it to use ?
