  1. I had one years ago and it constantly over heated. So much so I drilled large holes about 2inch diameter with a hole saw in the sides of the cowling and fitted a fine mesh behind them. Not pretty but it did work.
  2. Pulling stumps with tirfors is hard graft. Choose your anchor wisely and get a very sharp axe. You could also use in conjunction with a hi lift jack. Or just grind the pig!!
  3. As said they don't look DIY trees. But if you feel confidant in your self then spend some time on the net learning(a) to be safe and (b) pruning cuts and techniques. Cracked kinds like you've described can be very nasty and are unpredictable to an inexperienced operative. If in doubt call someone in and please stay safe! Good luck
  4. Being a rover it was probably parked there by some old giffer!!
  5. I'm going to check the four horsemen of the apocalypse have done their risk assessments before proceeding!
  6. I used to say 'to make way for the by-pass' .... some actually saw the funny side of it!!
  7. Lister wilder were also offering something similar if IRC!
  8. I used a transit county years ago and it wasn't great. We had a few front drive shaft issues when turning on full lock. At the time the county was only a few months old so god knows how one would perform years down the line. As others have said (although it pains me to say) try a landy. But be warned you will start getting land rover crap like tea towels for Christmas. ;-)
  9. I use a 190cfm compressor for my airspade from my local hire company for £48 for 2 days hire. As for ppe I use this Does a good job for £15 and allows room for dust masks underneath.
  10. Check out the fera YouTube guides on this and other nasty's lurking!
  11. Which one... I had a lt35 tipper and it looked overloaded empty!
  12. I just carried out a thorough Loler examination yesterday and one of the climbers harnesses bridges was exactly the same!! The worrying part is why did I find it and not the climber!!
  13. Decathlon do breathable t shirts like the strech air for about £8..lots of colours etc. Last quite well too
  14. Apparently Treelife don't make anything on this as Bs take most of the money!!
  15. Look... to stop dangerous work practice in my business this is how it is! If you want to behave like a an clown playing silly buggers with very sharp kit find someone else's toys to play with. Everyone who worked for me read and signed my health and safety policy. In there it states use of top handled saws are only to be used in the tree by trained operatives. I don't care if its legal requirement or a recommendation in my business it's unsafe practice which is a sackable offence. Up to now I've not had to get to step 2 or 3. They have been warned when they start. So in answer to your statement... Bring on your employment lawyers and I will put them up against the h&se lawyers ;-)
  16. Well, my staff got a warning the first time I caught them using the top handle on the floor, second time they wouldn't get paid for the day and third time sacked. It's not good practice and all I want is an accident advertised all over the h&se web site and finding out my insurance was invalid just because they can be arsed to get the ground saw...That's great for business! It's a dangerous piece of kit that's why you need your climbing tickets to buy one! (Apparently but I've never been asked) Saying that my local fencing contractor uses one for topping fence posts in his shorts!!
  17. I did try that earlier but had no success. Will try again later
  18. As said above! After prompting updates from the app store I updated the fungi app. Since updating the phone refuses to open it Anyone else having the same issues?

  20. A farmer I knew had his container gas axed through 3 times to get at his saws and tools. He filled 25ltr barrels with petrol and put them all the way round the inside of his container waiting for the next gas axe attack..... Never did find out if it worked!!
