  1. come to think of it the 201 does use significantly less fuel. Its a pain, cos refuelling time is my chance to roll a fag in the tree. Spud, ill send my 200 to you asap! Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. it's soft poofs like you that are ruining the industry. I'd have shot the trainee in front of his family, set an example to the rest. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. On the rare occasion that I put a saw away for any length of time I never empty it or run it dry. Just drain the stake fuel and refill with fresh when out comes out again. As I understand it more problems can occur from running a saw dry and storing it empty. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

  10. I'd say 50k should be the bottom limit. If a climber can earn 36k a year why would you take all that risk and time to earn just a bit more? Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. with respect, I would. I presume he's got a truck, chipper, kit etc. What happens when that needs replacing? From what I've seen of business owners in this game their day is full of working, quoting, maintenance and admin. For 23k a year? All good and well having a good reputation, but having a reputation for being cheap is something I can do without. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. What? Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

  15. Anyone can be a busy fool though. It's easy to fill your diary when you're much cheaper than everyone else. Why bother though? I was on significantly more than that as a PAYE team leader. My only overhead was my car. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

  23. Possibly, or the tree in in a situation where it is occupying the majority of a small garden, close to the house, even blocking out all of the light etc etc. Should the client be forced to "lump it" where a reduction or lift won't achieve what they want? Is the only option to remove? Obviously mature specimens with high amenity value are different consideration. As long as the client is aware that a heavy reduction will start a maintenance cycle what's the problem? Its about compromise. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Nobody is saying they're wrong Gary. Simply that often we are bit working for the trees best interest, but the clients. Hence why I mentioned basing your decision on a trees situation. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Judge a tree in its individual merits. I have and will continue to heavily reduce small trees of suitable species in small back gardens. I'd rather do that then fell every tree that got too big for its garden. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
