    There's an awful lot of speculation going on in this thread isn't there. From the above post to @Big Jassuming what the job should have cost from one sketchy photo. If the job was done to the agreed spec, there's no issue, if it varied from the agreed spec (assuming there was even a comprehensive spec in writing) then the op needs to get in touch with the company provided he can. Did the record from what I can see from the photos it does look like a small amount of work for the money, but that's conjecture without knowing the full story. I'm guessing the OP only got the one quote.

    Who dictates how much a crew should earn? Assuming the client didn't have a gun to his head. If someone's charging a grand for a 2 man day more power to him. It's ultimately the market that decided what we can get away with. The company I worked for on Monday had 1,200 + v on a job that two of us did by 2pm. We're they ripping the client off?

    Did you get other quotes? If not it's difficult to have much sympathy. Did you check they were a reputable established company? Website, recommendations etc. Were you given a detailed quote listing what was happening to the arisings? The abandoned brash is confusing. I'm assuming you asked to keep the chip.

    It's irritating, but they're out there. I consider myself pretty decent at reductions, but they do soak up the hours. When you see someone like Matty who can smash out a decent reduction on a big tree in a few hours its a mixture of awe and thinking "You prick...". People saying that dismantles are harder are kidding themselves. A removal is either done or its not. There's so much more to consider with a reduction. Any large removal I've ever done has consisted of tie, cut, repeat. I'll take dismantles Abby day over reductions.

    My B2500 does 320 miles to a fill, and takes almost as long to fill up as it does to empty the tank. Electric is the future, it's obvious.

    I dont like how they're glamourising tree surgery. £120 for 2 men for 2 hours is daylight robbery, and can anyone show me the flash tree cutter raking in 21 grand a year? Load of bollocks
