  1. Leicester should have been locked down a long time ago IMO
  2. Too many seasoned tree folk have wasted their experience on this prat. Don't try and argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
  3. IME you'll get a build up behind the clutch no matter what oil you use. Clean it out whenever a clutch spring goes...
  4. Why would they make you take it to the uk, that's mental! They're must be plenty of French branches? (Pardon the pun)
  5. Why wouldn't they repair it under warranty?
  6. Why don't you just take it to your local dealer and get them to sort it?
  7. Looks like 5 Shires is really determined to prove us all wrong! ?
  8. My subscribers wouldn't appreciate it if I did that
  9. Thanks Ian. Now I look silly.
  10. Doesn't seem like anybody has been personal or slated you mate. I thought some of the prices and timeframes you mentioned were unrealistic. It's okay to disagree with people. Taking offense is a choice.
  11. Come on Wayne, you've been pretty vocal about what you thing this job should be worth. No need to throw your toys out when people disagreeing with you. That would be the discussion part of what this forum was designed for.
  12. What a very strange way of thinking,
  13. Considering there's a ban coming if I sat no... Of course it does ? For sure mate, but on that tree even an average climber like myself could rig faster than 2 or 3 good lads could clear it up the garden and past the house. You'd want your a-team on the ground for sure!
  14. Nice, isn't it? Actual tree workers discussing tree work!
  15. Good point well made Don, but in this case I don't think it's a case of hope quick you can get the tree down. The determining factor I'd how quick your guys can clear the brash and process the timber and clear the sawdust. If I got subbed in to get that tree down in a day then no bother, but there would still be a lot of time in the stem and clear up.
  16. Yeah tbf some trees are worth more than 2k. If you can't get machinery in and you've got to handball all that heavy out that's gonna take you into a third day easy. There'll be a transit list of sawdust!
  17. You'd be welcome to it for that. If I had 2 groundies I'd be spending most of my time waiting up the tree. I wouldn't very much like to be keeping cord for logs too. If it chips it goes through. That's some seriously thick timber there. Even if it's staying it'll still have to be manageable. Anyone putting less than 2 grand on that is running themselves into the ground. Have at it.
  18. He'd need far bigger beads for starters.
  19. A climber needs a personal saw, more so with the mini toppers. The bar and chain get bollocksed straight away when they get shared. Then they become pointless saws.
  20. It's a false bottom he's put into his Stein cube. Two lines one cube. The petzl ones come with it anyway but break in minutes
  21. I'd be careful posting advice and guidance with nothing to back it up but a phone call. The only stipulation that I've seen when reading the government criteria is that your business must've been adversely affected. There's no stipulation of what degree you have been affected.
  22. Whatever. We can agree that the other bloke is a shithead though.
