  1. Seems fair, what would the full price have been?
  2. I'd like more context regarding the accusations of your mother and her watering. I won't hold my breath.
  3. It depends what the tree surgeons were asked to do. It would appear they have simply been asked to remove the tree to ground level, which they have done. You seem to want to label them as cowboys because you think the stump should've been removed, but if the estate agents didn't ask for this then obviously it hasn't been done. If you wanted to be pragmatic you could simply drill a few holes round the outside of the stump and put roundup in. Would be easier and less stressful than a protracted argument with the estate agent. Depends what you want from this.
  4. It'll be the mechanism worn down. Not the stalk itself but where it attaches to the steering column. My sister in laws 308 used to do it. The right indicator would cancel and instead of the stalk returning to the middle it would go straight past that to left signal. It would also just randomly drop into left signal for fun, and you couldn't click it back. Piece of shit.
  5. They only got a 45 minute set yesterday, but I reckon that's all they are up to these days.
  6. I've spent the weekend at Victorious festival in Portsmouth. Ocean Colour Scene were a good blast from the past and played a decent protest song they wrote around the start of the first gulf War. I didn't care about that though, I was only there for The Day We Caught The Train.
  7. No shit, they're political activists first, angry musicians second. Much like RATM
  8. Distel Gecko are the comfiest I've had. Wouldn't bother springing for the carbon ones, the weight difference is negligible when you're standing on them. They weigh the same as a set of triple ladders.
  9. I refer back to my previous comment.
  10. This is it. Genuine specialists at the sharp end of the industry being treated like scum by someone who couldn't carry out a reduction if their lives depended in it. Laughable really.
  11. It seems that the AA either don't care, or are scared to do anything regarding this. The feedback is unanimously negative from the vast majority they claim to represent, and yet they seem to have gone to ground on the matter. It begs the question: who are they really working for?
  12. If I remember back to my CS30 I think they suggested half filling the can with petrol, adding the 2t oil and topping the can up with petrol. Bit of a faff at the pump though. I really don't think it matters compared to accurate measurements and good quality oil and fuel.
  13. Basically the same weak sauce bureaucratic rubbish. "Yes we published it but won't take any responsibility for what was said". I'm frankly embarrassed for the AA, that they published such inflammatory and condescending content in the first place, but more so that they refuse to stand by it or act on it. An apology for giving such insulting material a platform would be appropriate, as would taking down the article. Sadly I'm not surprised by the reaction though. This isn't the first time the AA has failed to represent the industry how they should be. Unsurprising that they are widely held in such low regard.
  14. I imagine it would be quite inconvenient for them if someone had copied the original article.
  15. Thanks for your reply Paul, and for taking my tongue in cheek comment as it was intended. As has been previously mentioned I read your attempt to distance the AA from Paul's article as a bit of a cop out. By publishing it you guys are accountable I'm afraid. I've emailed Mr Elcoat bringing this thread to his attention and inviting him to reply. I'll await with baited breath...
  16. Let's try and keep it a bit more constructive mate, it'd be nice if the AA felt inclined to respond further
  17. Sounds like you might have taken business advice from Elcoat LTD
  18. You didn't have your own insurance though, so you're basically scum mate.
  19. Nail on the head there I think, Pete
  20. Possibly more embarrassing is how he's demonstrated his lack of knowledge of the industry. Stating that Labour only sub contractors/freelancers should have their own insurance, for one. You'd expect someone who charges a 4 figure consultation fee to know the details.
  21. I look forward to it. If the term chicken is harsh, primary school must have been traumatic for you!
  22. So the exact same reasons as those people he vilifies then?
  23. Nice try Paul, but by publishing it on your website you're not only giving Mr Elcoat's views a platform, but you're endorsing them. Do you agree that the blanket use of terms like I mentioned above (parasites, bottom feeders and tax evaders) is appropriate? Perhaps you'd like to invite the author to justify himself?
