  1. Pulleysaver is a retrievable pulley used as your top anchor, like a cambium saver. Sure, I'm always up for a weekend climb when the weather is good.
  2. Ah, the pulley with three carabiner holes is the "hitchclimber" pulley. Takes a bit of getting used to, and to get the most out of it a ropeguide/pulleysaver at the top is a must, but I love it.
  3. Triple pulley? Yeah I used a Prussik the other day, was nice to go back to basics but hard work! Yeah, pretty busy! But I like that! I'll pm you my number, if you need a hand or advice just let me know.
  4. Yeah the v.t. Is the hitch that I (and most people) use with the hitchclimber. You can use a v.t. Without a hitchclimber though, just buy a small pulley (around a tenner). Save yourself money and just buy 3m of cord. Should make 2 loops. Marlowe Boa 9mm works well.
  5. I've got 8mm cord, I find it works better in a V.T. For a Prussik it might be too narrow and cause it to bind. Thicker cord is better IMO. Who do you work for?
  6. Yes mate I do. I normally buy 10 metres of Sirius at a time. Cheap as chips, can chuck it when it's worn, and I really rate the cord. I get about 8 lengths from that.
  7. Do you use sewn loops, or make your own? A length of friction cord tied into a loop using double fisherman knots will allow you to adjust it.
  8. So spud, what do you reckon you could do to a 211?
  9. Aren't you on the reverse paleo Mark? If it ain't processed, it's not going in?
  10. To quote Mrs Doubtfire: "I don't work with the males, as I used to be one..."
  11. Rich in easily digested Medium Chain Fatty Acids: a healthy unsaturated fat, high in Lauric Acid (which is apparently good for you). Without carbs your body runs on protein and fat, so yes, you can get away with eating more healthy fats.
  12. I never thought to look there! Cheers bud, you may have just saved me a lot of money!
  13. For your money an MS211 is not to be laughed at. 14" bar, keep it sharp and it will look after you. Weighs very little, cheap on fuel/parts, and you can cut up to 28" diameter with it. It was my first saw, and is still my favourite ground saw. For a budget of £300 you could get that and a few new chains!
  14. Sounds good how does the raw egg affect the consistency? I tried it once in a macho protein phase. Was unpleasant. Do you add water? I find the coconut milk thickens smoothies to a yoghurt like texture, plus it's £2 a tin! I don't mind costly breakfast. If it stops me eating crap throughout the day it isn't really that dear.
  15. What else goes in your smoothie Steve? I've been having 3 a morning, but scrambled or omelette(d). I'm not used to shoving that much chow down first thing. I'd much rather drink my breaky!
  16. True, but short of going to live in the wild and hunting (sounds like a lot of hard work) the closest you can get is eating organic produce. I think most people doing this are sticking to the general principles, as being a purist will never work as it's too difficult/hard on the wallet!
  17. "Reduce Maple" I left the roots
  18. So come on guys, what are your exceptions? Mine is milk in my tea, brown sugar in my coffee, and occasionally a bit of melted cheese on top of stuff like chilli. Oh, and condiments.
  19. Oops, just been politely informed that the 18th is my 3 year "anniversary" with my girlfriend... 25th? Got some making up to do...
  20. Aah good. Congrats on taking the opportunity by the way, I'm envious! A fortnight tomorrow (18th) good for anyone?
  21. Well said Paul, yet we've all had clients who take no heed of your best advice, and all they want is "about half the size and nice and round". You can preach best practice and pruning methods to them til you're blue in the face, but they don't care and want it their way. It can be frustrating, and being an employed climber who likes my job, I have had to carry out similar works, against my better judgement.
  22. Huntingdon or Hunningham? Hows the new ownership going?
  23. Well in fairness to him, the Scottish hunter gatherers foraged for Irn Bru and deep fried Mars Bars, so it's what their digestive systems were designed to cope with
