  1. I'm actually a kumho dealer too, never seen them in that size but they do make great tyres.
  2. I'm a tyre dealer, I'll check with my suppliers tomorrow for you. I fit a lot of that size to ifor Williams trailers and that's about as high as I've seen them rated. You running trailermax?
  3. Really windy here right now, our fence has already blown down and our dog refuses to go outside. I'm in Perth right now but I was up north today and it was calm strangely.
  4. Initially I joined up to ask advice on a new chainsaw and although I don't post very often I regularly learn things here. I love being out in the woods, chopping logs, and using chainsaws! I envy you guys getting paid to do it.
  5. I just received my x27 and I'm loving it. I had a b&q maul before and I'm never using it again. Had a load of beech rings laying around for weeks now and no motivation to chop them. I got through half of it today after telling my girlfriend I'm off to test my new axe :-) I got mine from amazon.com, £51.14p and it arrived in 3 days to the north of Scotland!
  6. Thanks for all of the advice guys. I went for the cheap option. Oregon prolite 18" bar (58) and a Carlton chain all for under £40 :-) I doubt I'll use this combo much but we'll see how it goes on this big beech.
  7. I've just been gifted a huge fallen beech tree for firewood and I've got most of it all cut up already with my 15" bar on my 346xp. I'm getting to the base of the tree now which is really thick and my 15" bar is falling short. Can anyone recommend a good chain and bar combo for this saw? I realise it'll be a little slower. Thanks
  8. Nice pictures, I kind of expected naked girls in the woods reading the title though. That's just me though
  9. Why would they not charge vat on postage? If the item being delivered is zero vat rated then so is the postage but otherwise you charge vat.
  10. It's not entirely free though, you still get charged if you deposit over a certain amount in cash in one month. I think it's 4k for the co-op. Alliance and Leicester are free too but they allow less cash to be deposited before you get charged. I stick with my bank because I get no trouble from them but I'd move to the co-op if i did.
  11. I never pay any attention to vat as I cls it back anyway but I always thought safety clothing was vat excempt regardless of retailer.
  12. I just pay my BT bill online via credit card, I don't think I get charged any extra for it. If your looking for a decent business bank account then have a look at alliance and Leicester commercial bank(now santander) or if your in the fsb the co-op do you a good deal.
  13. That first one works but it's relying on speed, I doubt it has much power.
  14. I think it's 250l, huge for a tyre garage anyway.
  15. The one I have is no bigger than a washing machine. Three phase, really quiet and feeds a huge receiver.
  16. If you want a big high pressure blast of air a big tank is the way id go. Anyway, I'd go hydraulic over air any day unless you've got yourself a massive hydrovane. Anyone ever used one of those unicorn / screw splitters? One of those on a big three phase motor would be cool..... and dangerous as hell.
  17. I've wondered about this too actually. I own a tyre garage and one of my machines runs on 90psi and one of the rams has a crushing force of three tonnes. Would this be enough for tough notty wood? I'm sure with around 150 psi and a bigger ram you could do better. You'd need a large receiver tank for it though.
  18. I'm waiting to find out how it went with Karen. He might have got some sort of reward
  19. That's right, you must be VAT registered to charge VAT.
  20. I was assuming the fares would be excempt. Anyway, I'm taking this off topic.
  21. That's exactly what I mean. Up here the taxi fees are fixed, they wouldn't be allowed to charge vat on top.
  22. Yup, it definitely benefits some business types. I've always wondered why taxi drivers don't do it.
  23. Personally id just list my prices with vat included. All Joe public cares about is how much it's going to cost them. It would be a good idea to advertise the fact your vat registered though as it could encourage businesses to buy from you as they can claim it back. It makes you look a bit more reputable too.
  24. You have to be vat registered if your turnover is over the vat threshold. I think it's 73k this year.
  25. Is it illegal to send a cylinder head, fuel tank or engine? You might be able to split it and post it.
