  1. No way have a Mog drive up, put a chain round it and rip it out of the ground. Tree work at its best!!!
  2. Ive got a 1999 Hilux Mk4, Micky Thompson MT tyres and it pulled a Vermeer 1000 XL chipper off road with no problems, chipper is 2200kg!!! Land rovers are good off road but **** me I couldn't live with one!! I like my hilux because it has a bigger load space than a Landy.
  3. Get a mountain goat

  7. They wont starve!!! Come on....... They will all come and work for me!
  8. I take your point but for my work its a bit overkill to be honest, I think a 9 or 10" would suit me better. As for standing in the wrong position, you can only lift huge pieces of timber in one way. Too sensitive with branchwood for my liking. Vermeer have a 2009 model with 1100 hours on it in immaculate condition and its up for £15,500 + VAT So you are rite in what you say about good value, this chipper is just not rite for my needs.
  9. WOW its like the nicest pair of tits i've seen wrapped in the most gorgeous bra ever! mmm love it

  16. What chippers do you run? Bandits?
  17. Just got a pair last week from Gustharts and they are cracking! By far the best boots out there at the moment I recon like!!
  18. Dont get me wrong, i'm not looking for a beautiful chipper, but at the same time im not wanting one that reminds me of Kryten off Red Dwarf!!!
  19. Gateshead Lawnmower Centre have one in stock, 16" bar for £650 inc VAT Hope you get sorted mate!
  20. Try Gustharts or Mike Hope in Wooler Tell them I sent you
  21. TRUST are mint, been with them for years, really cant fault them! Although there is one thing..... when you ring the office all of them sound exactly the same! Weird! I think is one bloke and when you ask for a different dept he just swaps ears...
  22. Get a Vermeer BC 1000 XL, have a look at my thread! Vermeer BC 1000 XL review
  23. Evening all, Just got back home after a long day lifting enormous trees to be fed into the Vermeer BC 1000 XP!! The only thing that was holding the job up was our physical strength. I had this chipper as a demo from the new Vermeer bloke up here in Northumberland. Cheers Steve! Ok here for the good bits, was it any good...? Good Bits We were feeding 15" logs into this monster and it was spitting them out like my timberwolf goes through 7" soft wood! WOW! Its weight was 2200kg which was the absolute maximum towing capacity for my Hi-lux, so that was a good thing, it towed really well but if im honest my Hi-lux did have to drop down into second gear for some hills. We had this off-road on the banks of the river Tyne and the Hi-lux pulled it with no problems although getting back out was a different story, but after 4 attempts up a muddy incline, in low 4wd with a run up we got out. The chipping speed and productivity time was frightening, like nothing ive ever seen. If we did jobs of this scale 5 days a week id buy one! Bad Bits The only way anyone could keep up with this machine is if it was crane fed, but then you wouldnt have a 12" road tow Vermeer chipper would you? Chipping branchwood was painful. It was for ever stopping and having to be set away again using a bloody button which was around the side of the machine, and thats a long way on a machine of this size, not very practical in my eyes. When chipping large pieces of 10" and above it was forever jumping out of gear making the revs drop, this was also a bloody pain in the you know where! £30,000 or there abouts including VAT NEW Bloody ugly machine as well dont you think? Conclusion Would I buy one........ erm No.
  24. There is a class place called 4 muddy feet just north of Newcastle, they specialise in Landrovers and they chipped mine, wow it was mint!!! Especially with a full stainless straight through exhaust mmm
