British Standards say you should not take any more than 33% out of a tree with in the growing season, so my recommendations would be to reduce them by 1/3rd of the canopy (top of the tree down to the lowest foliage). People do hit them harder but id stick to BS. If the previous reduction point is close to this then id take it back to there as you dont really want to have two reduction points in the tree. Firstly coz it makes the job awful for the next person to do it and secondly it will create two week points where the tree may fail. I hope this helps

Yes, this one will hold 3 ton of chip no bother, it drives lovely (well as lovely as a mog can drive) with the chipper on the back, I would have really wanted it on the front but may look at doing that in the future, once ive got my timber trailer with hi-ab, MEWP, new Range Rover, new road tow chipper for my van, tracked stump grinder among a few other things on my 'that would make jobs easier list'

Iv got 2 birch reductions, felling a lawson cypres and felling a cherry Im in a place called Corbridge which is just outside Hexham, half way between Newcastle & Carlisle ish NEDL are doing a power turn off, should be a good day if the weather holds off

  13. Yes mate, if veryone only put their best tree work pics on here i think that ould be cheating lol I always feel there is room for improvement, i think thats hy i do post pics of jobs on here. Not only to be commended for good work, but also to pick up tips and improve my knowledge. Thanks for your comments Chris

  15. Ive got a Husky 365xp and it does the same, id take it to your local suplier, where you from?
  16. How much is it leaking? Is there oil under the saw if left overnight?
