  1. I had a TD5 and thought it was mint, but...... I was told through the grape vine that the MOD did not buy the TD5 as it was prone to breaking down??? Dont know how true this is but i thought id let you know just in case there is some truth in it Good luck with the hunt though mate, but wouldnt you rather have a Hi-Lux
  2. Ill tell you why, Imagine you have an accident at work, HSE turn up and youve used a whoopy sling as a cambium saver, what do you think they'd say??? Also your insurance would be void Just put your hand in your pocket and buy the correct kit for the job or dont use a cambium saver until you can afford one
  3. As far as the tax is concerned, this is not negotiable. They work this out using your UTR unique tax refrence number given by revenue and customs. They take 20% off me but that comes off your tax bill at the end of the year so may be a bad thing when your invoice gets paid but mint when your tax bill comes in and you owe nothing! Thats why I said price 1/2 again ontop of your daily domestic day rate
  4. I do a lot of commercial work, I have worked it out that if I have to wait 30 days for my money, it is usually very hard on your kit and you are usually asked to provide so much paper work that takes up your time to produce so this all must be taken into account. Because youd be better off just sticking to domestic and getting paid once you finish the job. If its your first job for them make it good for them too as you want repeat work, and trust me there will be times where you can charge more to make it back up. Usually they will get 3 quotes if the contract is over £1000, if this is the case then do everything to the best of your ability, produce method statement, site specific risk assessment, hace your cscs cards, two of you must be first aiders, hi-vis, health and saftety policy, wildlife assessment sheet, qualifications for you and the lads.
  5. I would charge 1/2 again of what you charge for domestic
  6. I think ill get the Mog back home and have to save up for a nice front mount chipper, then save up for a trailer with timber grab then save up for an ifor williams 3.5 ton tipping trailer then save up for.......... lol I knew this game was expensive but this is =starting to take the piss lol
  7. Isn't it this model that have the Sprinter engine? You should ask Agrimog on here, his knowledge is awsome
  8. Id stay well clear, its worth paying a bit more and getting a decent machine that parts are easy to get hold of becasuse if it breaks down and you have to wait a week or two for parts your grounded.
  9. hmmm aye looks mint but £15k wow, id love one but i doubt it would pay for its self let alone make me a proffit Great bit of kit if you can use it most days!! At last someone else who wears X-fit lol. Thought i was the only one
  10. Or give Keith a buzz at Just Stumps, get him to price it, do it and put a bit on for you. Money for **** all! Thats the way forward i recon...
  11. Try Connor at Orange Plant, tell him I sent you
  12. Stephen, what vehicles do you run mate?
  13. And how do you find it? Do you ever think a van would be handy too? Whats your work radius? Mine is approx 15 miles
  14. Skyhuck, do only run your mog or do you have a van/4x4 As well?
  15. It was but, i dont want to be grounded without a vehicle to jobs if and when the mog breaks down and if i use mog 50% and canter 50% then the mog has 50% more work in her before she breaks down
  16. Im in two minds to keep the canter and timberwolf road tow and have the mog as an extra or sell canter and timberwolf and buy good pto chipper with timber trailer with hi-ab Whats your thoughts mate
  17. Ill put it a different way, how much do i need to spend to get the most out of things with in mind my mog was 20k and its a U1600 and youve read what i want it to do, 5"k, 10k, 15k?
  18. What chippers do you run, and if you were me what woukd you go for?
  19. Im wanting a large front mount chipper to process timber faster so that i can get on and off new building development sites without taking firewood away. The reason i was waning anti-stress was for when we put a large piece of timber in someone doesnt have to control the feed with the bar I dont do firewood, my only interest is getting the trees down, chipping them and getting off site and seding invoice Cheers
  20. A cheaper option would be a Stein jacket either in black or hi-vis yellow, try Gustharts You will find their ad on the right hand side of this site Let me know how you get on mate Chris
  21. OMG! I doubt he's got enough cash for me to do it lol
  22. Where abouts are you exactly? Nearest City?
  23. Yes but i did stress that I want a chipper with anti-stress on it...
  24. It really depends on what work you do, if you are off road a lot then id stick with what youve got and get 2 new. If your not off road at all then the other option sounds great.
