  1. Ordered mine from Messrs Jones, should be arriving tomorrow:thumbup: as it had to come from the House of Husq first, wherever that is.
  2. This is how I start my binding, then add 1 for each stake, the end finishes in the same way. Edit: I turned the bloody thing before uploading? just hold the screen up for a bit!
  3. But what if you feel like replying now? It'll look right proper daft to have a "2000 posts" thread going with 2004 posts or more:lol:
  4. Without meaning to sound like an arrogant twit, but not bothered if I do anyway... Maybe you want to do a course first? Wherebouts are you?
  5. Why would you?
  6. Drivers! When one gets out, the correct HSE-approved way it to dismount the vehicle backwards, bum first. In the real world, people swing one or both legs out, then slide down onto the step and presto! excessive Side-of-Seat wear:thumbdown:
  7. I currently get some help from an HGV driver. He's done agency work for years and has the best driving record one could wish for. He mainly works out of the Suffolk area but has travelled far and wide for the odd day's work. He's not had a single offer for driving work since the end of november bar the odd "can you be in Aberdeen in an hour for two hours work please?" I can't afford to pay him much, but he's glad to be able to work and know he can (or can't) be of use next week etc.
  8. How about a nice fat bollard to go in the a-frame? Park it, put bollard through, preferably with a chain as well. If they really want it and bring cutting gear, they'll take it. But a decent bollard would mean they'd need to lift it over the bollard to get it off as the a-frame will hinder cutting it. The chain will stop the lesser prepared but burly chaps trying to lift it off by gypower. The above combo will need either lifting gear or some severe gas-axeing. If they bring either or both of the above, they'll have it no matter what you've done to deter them.
  9. nearly 20℃ warmer this morning than yesterday morning! A soggy dripping world. A bit kinder on the animals though, when I checked last night, I found my cock had got frostbitten:thumbdown: He seems ok, but has blue bits on his comb and dangly bits (whatever they're called) Any tips?

    338xp

Are you after a 338xpT? I cannot find a 338 xp, it's a 339 xp or a 338 xpt. I may be able to send you one from the Netherlands.
  11. I've got a baffling ms 210. It runs, sometimes. When it runs, it runs fine but hesitant to pick up from idle. Then I can use it for as long as I like as long as I don't allow it to idle for it will idle for 4-5 seconds then die. It will not start after that. No amount of carb adjusting seems to change this. If I get it to idle ok, it'll die when I touch the throttle, if i get it to pick-up ok it won't idle. I've tried: Breather- Ok, as no different with breather pipe off Carb- recent new carb kit, sonic clean etc. all seems ok. Impulse line- fine Carb boot- fine Plug- is fine Fuel filter is fine Exhaust is clear P+C look immaculate through exhaust port. I'm rather peeved with it and have ordered a 550xp to replace it but want it running well before I flog it. Any suggestions?
  12. Can't see how god fits into mechanics? If it wanted to crack, it would have done so, no amount of wrapping up, hair-dryer/whatever would have changed that I reckon. Because the top-hose to the rad was solid but had a tiny bit of "crunch" I decided just firing it up was the way to go. I've managed to drop just enough liquid to get all the antifreeze I had left into it:thumbup: And a new block will not really be an option unless I get given one. The car cost me £1250 3 years/120k miles ago:biggrin:
  13. You've just gone down a couple of notches in my book mr Blair.
  14. My outside thermometer read a low of -16.3 and a current temp of -11.4 this morning. It's normally quite optimistic, both my cars, and the postmans car reckoned -14.7 at the same time so it may have been a tad cooler than -16.3. This is is south Lincolnshire. Landrover refusing to start, and realised I should have sorted my coolant in the car. I had a leak for ages and just up with water as I was losing it anyway. Fixed the leak, left it for a bit to be sure and there you go, frozen engine! Luckily there was just enough antifreeze to keep a "crushed ice-drink" consistency but even with the engine temp running up to 108 the heater matrix was still frozen solid. Cue frozen windows and windscreen on the inside after every 2 miles. 10 miles of driving, with two half-hour stops and still frozen.
  15. Same/similar money as a 346, the difference will not buy many pints.
  16. I know, thanks. It's one of my better habits, along with modesty.
  17. So do I, but the 550 xpg will not be here for a fair few weeks according to the husky lady I spoke to yesterday. Heated handles will come to the UK when spring has sprung:confused1:
  18. Have fun! Hope the summer weather will be kind to you (notice not even a hint of sarcasm there?)
  19. A new 346xpg would be about 425 +the dreaded, makes 510. Would you get £200 worth of work done in it's first year? Yes? then just Buy a new one! No? Then you don't need the saw in the first place!
  20. Awesome tool, but I'd say overpriced. Put another £125 on the table and get a new one! The heated handles are awesome! And I believe the 346 does not have a heated carb with it's associated issues. It'll feel a bit cheap and dirty when you first pick it up, tacky plastics etc but they do appear to be built quite well, just don't look it.
  21. Do you reckon someone who needs a plug (or thinks he does:sneaky2:) will actually go to another retailer for the sake of £1.16? If it's a straight sale? On the other side, I really appreciate my local repair guy for putting new parts on at cost-price. Would it be unfair/impractical to have two price-lists, one for sale and one for parts used during repairs?
  22. Knock, knock. Who's there? An interrupting cow. An interupti..MOOOO!
  23. Well Mr Sheppard? How does it do? I've ordered one today so just tell me about the bits you liked:biggrin:
  24. these? Pellenc Selion C20 eco-friendly battery chainsaw | F R Jones and Son
  25. Cheers spud! I do have the advantage of having a spare cylinder to play with:001_smile:
