  1. Not being clever indeed I replaced p&c for the increased capacity, not because the original was broken. It's sitting on my shelf, looking a bit forlorn at its former home.... There's a big tear under the inlet so first thing u checked us all the air box and carb screws- all in place. Next I checked the pin, both clips on place and no sign of it moving No scores anywhere. Plug a lovely coffee colour, slightly dark (as tuned a little rich to bed in) Apart from the small end just shearing off for no apparent reason I could see no cause?
  2. It was an aftermarket big bore kit from one of the more reputable sellers. Sold with 12 months warranty. I contacted the seller and emailed across a load of pictures of the aftermath. I got a response telling me they'd forwarded them to the manufacturers (which made me grumble, I purchased a warranted part from the seller, not the manufacturer! Give me at least the money from the P+C back) Got another email this morning with the manufacturers request to send them what's left of the saw and if they reckon it was the kit at fault they might do better than just refund the p&c. "They are prepared to make some compensation for the saw being wrecked" Wasn't expecting that to be honest. And even if they reckon it was user error or some such it's not going to be any worse than it is now. I'll keep y'all updated.
  3. I'll buy the pot and piston and I'll pay you a fair bit too if you'll fix it! Can you see the grass looking through the engine?
  4. JB-weld it? Or blue-tack?
  5. Is that a re-badged husqvarna? I bought a very cheap huskie 395xp the other day which looks identical but for the colour!
  6. I bought a tree-climbing harness at a boot sale. I bought a selection of used ropes at the same sale. My English was not as fluent then as it is now, as I'd only come to this country a few weeks previous.
  7. Where is it?
  8. Not quite sure yet, pic is from underneath the saw, crankcase is smashed with bits coming out... Zooming out:
  9. My 660 big bore just threw the crankshaft out through the bottom of the case... I am not that happy about it to be honest.
  10. Put it on eBay as "barn find project" nearly finished, just a few bits left to do for the lucky winner! You're on a gold mine there!
  11. Mog eater.....
  12. This vehicle is just the "municipal" version of the real thing. A bit like the cheap wimpy "council mogs". The proper Vredo trac has near 500 Hp and a gvw of near 40t. Both axles steering and with full diff-locks. There's not many things a Mog could do that it can't, I reckon there's a lot more the Vredo can do that a Mog cannot. Having said that my experience with mogs is a bit limited to older and very un-impressive models, compared to a 1999 built Vredo.
  13. Ask yourself just how jealous you are of the bridegroom and there's your answer:biggrin:
  14. Secret technology they bought from Nasa? but don't worry: Applications As a small professional chain saw, it is suitable for the deforestation and lumber in the planted forest.

  16. Theres a few for sale just across the water http://www.vanvliet.com/71/trucks/4x4?i=5 they have some 50 new LC pickups in stock (I drive past them quite often, hard not to stare..), with the fantastically torquey 4.2. There's a few odd-ball ones as well, couple of mounted cranes, ambulance, prison van etc. They're all LHD though..
  17. I won't have mine out for a while, with the weather and such. But the next time I do, I'll put an in-line fuse holder on mine and try a selection of fuses. I've used mine on the cig plug in my car and not had any trouble. I think that's on a 10 amp fuse?
  18. Well done. It's especially hard if you think it's expensive. But you know how much time and effort it's taken. And you know if you've cut any corners or delivered a top class product.
  19. So.... How much will you charge?
  20. Did you give an estimated price before you started? The workmanship appears second to none from the pics, charge what you need to I'd say.
  21. You can fit a lighter plug without any issues. And that power supply would be fine.

    Hello

Just checked, it was the 1st of jan '97 so it looks like you just missed the boat.

    Hello

Changed in '97, hence my query. What you describe there is "category B" which is what you've got if you got your license post (march??) '97.

    Hello

Welcome Anthony. I'm a little confused about your license. Pre '97 would give you B+E and C1, but you state pre 98, which could be just B or more depending on how far pre 98? Prepare to work for little or no reward for a while, there seem to be quite a few people in a similar position to yours. I wish you all the best in your journey.
