  1. Has all the answers! And relatively affordable too! Thanks very much Mr Burgess!
  2. Dear Mr Egg, Intelligent people tend to underestimate their own intelligence, or overestimate the intelligence of others. Non intelligent people do the exact opposite....
  3. So in short: Your quite new vehicle suddenly developed a problem. The dealer hasn't been able to find or fix the problem despite having had ample time to do so. Then their solution is to blame the customer! About par for the course really... I'd harnas them ceaselessly until they've either fixed or replaced your faulty goods. Unless you were told the vehicle wasn't suitable for repeated short journeys either at handover or in the manual, they've not a leg to stand on. Keep at them, if they give any sign of unwillingness to fix or replace, threaten them with legal action. They're wrong, you're right, the end
  4. Heeeelp! I want to remote start a diesel generator. I have a generator that provides mains voltage and battery bank charging. I have a battery monitor with an adjustable relay output that can close the relay when battery voltage gets below a preset threshold and opens again when voltage has risen sufficiently (to a preset level so as to avoid the genny coming on often in short bursts) The signal from the monitor can only power a relay. How do I convert the simple "relay on" to "ignition on, 10 seconds of preheat, 5 seconds of starter"? And then back to all off when the relay contacts open again? Confused... Daniel
  5. John was asked subtly to try and limit his (unintelligible to the uninitiated) ramblings a bit. He didn't see the problem. More people asked him to, a lynch mob formed (as we're all just hiding behind pixels the mob mentality is easily unleashed), unpleasantness ensued, Jon was hurt, and left. It was quite a vile display of lack of tact and understanding.
  6. I had 13 or 15 on mine, mostly 13. I tried a 20 once in time of need, but the saw didn't like it at all. It was not too bad on my 346 so it lived on that for that job (and in the shed ever since)
  7. Not as expensive as foot repair surgery. If they last a year, how many kiwi-bucks/working day do they cost?
  8. I can't wear airstream, too narrow. Bloody boots! You'll just have to take the plunge on some you think may be good, I've found good recommendations for nearly all boots available but very few boots work for me.
  9. He talking complete testicles. I didn't open mine, just took it off, drilled a number of holes through the baffle from the engine side and took a dremel to the outlet to widen the hole. 15 minutes max. As said before the saw will compensate the tune.
  10. I guess it's also down to the wearer. Someone who works for me got 4 years out of the meindls! I didn't get to a year. So i guess part of it is luck, part care, part quality of product and part is in the way you walk, the shape of your feet and how the move and stress the boots, how high you lift your feet when you walk, etc etc etc...
  11. I wear pfanner tirol fighters. They're very solid, the soles can be replaced and they're not too narrow (got wide feet so often have to oversize to fit widthways) I do have sofsole inserts in them, I found the heel area especially lacking in cushioning. They're super comfy with the inserts. Before these I had two pairs of woodwalkers, both of which were comfy but both pairs literally fell apart within less than a year. I won't buy another pair.
  12. My brother had a rexxton for a bit, couldn't recommend one...
  13. Thanks for the update!
  14. I'd reccommend a Fenix Hl60r. It gives oodles of light its rechargeable via usb. The light is a really pleasant colour for the eyes, not blue-ish or yellow-ish, just pleasant. The battery is replaceable! for many such tools they become useless when the battery goes, not this one! It takes a normal 18650 battery (of which you could have some spares with you, or a cig plug battery charger in y'r truck charging one while you use another) You could also power it with disposable type cr123 (often used in camera's) 5 years warranty Aluminium housing, robust as... well a robust thing! waterproof (down to 2m under water for an hour or so) Less than £70.....just Fenix HL60R - 950 Lumen Rechargeable Headlamp with Battery | eBay
  15. So all pins 8-13 are not doing anything for you. I don't know how clever that particular vehicle is though, on some the vehicle diagnostics include the trailer lights. I'd just chop em and see.
  16. The 13 pole plug is for caravans really. The only useful addition is the reversing light. Other poles are permanent +, ignition +, separate earth's for these etc. It's not going to fix the hyperflashing if you change it, but it may solve your random faults. Nearly all weird behaviour of trailer lights is down to bad earth.
  17. Alternatively: find a rock climbing helmet that fits (lots more choice) and fit the adaptor kit that goes on the stein helmets. It does mean drilling a small hole for the bolt but in my risk assessment the benefits outweigh the risk. Then you can fit normal muffs and visor to whatever helmet you choose. https://honeybros.com/Item/Stein_Kask_Euro_Clip_Adapter_Kit
  18. Skyland offer this: CT Climbing Technology X Arbor Helmet Orange which says it squeezes down to 50 cm. I've no experience with this helmet, but it's the only one I've found that goes that small. I've looked a lot in the past for proper kit for my daughters (who aren't petite, just young)
  19. Got some. Thanks for your perseverance in the face of many adversities Steve!
  20. Why would you mirror a picture? I know it's sometimes done to evade copyright issues but that doesn't seem likely here?
  21. .....
  22. Very vertical markings don't suggest ash die back to me? The second picture suggests this isn't a sudden issue. Lightning?
  23. Facts are just that, facts. There's nothing to agree or disagree about facts. We were talking about the USA, where the fact is that vastly greater numbers of people are killed by Christians than Muslims. This fact is in my opinion bizarre enough. Why people of any religious belief would use that as an excuse to hurt others is beyond me. But I don't think singling out one religion or the other and stating the problem is their fault is a solution. Quite the opposite.
  24. Is violence against people (doctors, pregnant women) in the name of a made up God any different to violence against people in the name of a different made up God?
