  1. Should be all right to redirection of cable because there quick to remove from the line. There only should turn slow not the speed a timber winch pulls at.
  2. What type of willow? If it's a bat willow dell it and buy some better timber.
  3. I use tractor and trucks in tree-work each one is insured but was thinking if it's possible to insure them as a block group to save money. Any one know of a good company to ring.
  4. Plenty of big forked stick to give it a push in to chipper. Just a thought can you burn it in a large old oil tank to contain the fire?????
  5. Shut down. Get a power company to get some one to inspect job with you and go with what they say may take some time to get them out to look.
  6. Most modern post thumpers can be user by one man because of way the posts are held. You just have to get on and off the tractor each time I use one on my own and do about 60 to 80 post aday.
  7. The other day when I was about to start chipping the customer came all with a wheel barrow and said can you just blow some chips in to it:confused1:. The best was when cutting a large conifer hedge the gardener asked what are you standing on, my reply was my feet he didn't think it was that funny:laugh1:.

  12. Pollard and coppice each tree looks like its had this done in the past, rather than do them all together work out a rotation to spread out the inpack on bird and animals.
  13. Good news but what did they say you did to it the first time, and what are they saying know? The only reason I ask is a year ago had problem with my shoulder after seeing a phiz a doctor and a consultant all said I had detached my rotator cuff after MRI and a 5 week wait the consultant said no I hadn't. The only problem was when I first saw the consultant he said they would just do the opp so I said could I have a MRI scan which I did good job I did. What the problem in my shoulder is extra bone growth off a bone which has narrowed where the tendons run from an injury about 10 years ago when I fell of a tuck on to a road and they can't opp so have to live with it. BEST OF LUCK.
  14. Talk to the lads at Chippenham farm sales they well know what you are looking for. There probably to far away from you but may give you the make and model so you can look at.
  15. DITTO. When the hedge is over 20foot high and 10foot wide it is not your average trim job for a man with a hedge cutter and a pair of steps.
  16. Had a shoulder problem a year ago know and went to see a physiotherapist and she gave me some exercises to do which I thought were easy till I tried them, they were holding exercises like yoga bloody hell did it hurt. Muscle is heavy so inner strength is what you need.
  17. Everyone climbs diffrent. Trust you own mind and go with it if your not happy don't do it. Fast is not always good but à good tidy tree is good to the eye.
  18. Why is it that some large companys never return a phone call when you are looking for something. I've rang 1 company 4 times no reply sod them know, is it because there not intrested in small companys but they were small once. Anyone had the same problem.
  19. Why recover with truck just repair on site:confused1:
  20. My neighbour has hy-crack splitter he was splitting oak and he turned the piece he was splitting and had his thump in the split when it closed up the problem was it just kept hold of the log and didn't split it and he could not stop the tractor which was a Ford 7600 all he could do was shout for help. When I heard him went to look and pull the stop on engine and the started getting him out, so set up a stop. I used it to split Eucalyptus once it would wined the odd lump on and nothing would happen and the it would shoot off the screw point towards me if I didn't stand back. Dangers machine to use I use a hydraulic splitter know.
  21. But did you price it up with money back on the drums for scrap.
  22. The over hang on my 130 is more than 300mm from the rear cross member works fine. The more over hang the more the tow bar has to be spaced out add more weight to back axle when towing, the tow bar on my 1 is just the standard drop plate with ball keeping every thing close, the only problem with it is if I tow a 170 nifty lift hoist and go to back up and turn to tight it hits the corner of body so I now fit a 100mm spacer when towing a hoist.
  23. Park it on the side of the road for a night and the men in a white transit will come along and drain it for you:mad1:. Did know someone how had a fuel problem on a old Major turned out someone put a condom in the tank:confused1: New thread coming up strangest thing found in a fuel tank:thumbup:.
  24. Jacksons not cheap but are good. Do metal framed wooden gates.
