  1. I've just bought my first piece of plant, a little skidsteer. One of the auxiliary hose couplers leaks slightly when the hoses are dangling unused when I don't have an implement plugged in. Not enough to bother replacing the hose since I'll almost certainly break it in the machine learning curve soon anyway. Can you get caps or blanked off couplers or something to keep the ends clean and from dripping hydraulic oil into the machine frame? Any suggestions? New ish to machines so don't know what things are called etc.
  2. Yes. When was the last time government interference in anything made anything better?
  3. In the highly unlikely event the bastards give back 3.5t towing as standard, they'll take ten times more away by requiring trailer registration and/or MOT. Mark my miserable words.
  4. Could you update this thread and quote/tag me if these changes do happen please.
  5. So someone with B would be able to tow more than 750kg if these changes happen?
  6. What’s happening with driving licences?
  7. I’ve had better results since stopping bothering with insulating tape. It melts at a different heat to and burns dirtier than whatever ropes are made from. Sharp knife and close fingers keeps the fraying to an entirely reasonable level.

    Tree id

Colour is alder. Bark is alder or a quite outside chance of pine. Probably alder.
  9. Box and maybe even bore the box if you’ve got space.
  10. Yacht swindleries are the usual kings of premium price. Fairly impressive to find them the better deal. I cut with a knife, heat over a gas hob and roll the melted bit into a cap/taper on a board with the side of a knife.
  11. No talking on Mark Bolam’s sites. No sex on Sviatoslav Tulin’s sites.
  12. (What a coincidence. I was just thinking Khriss is a twat a few hours ago.)
  13. @Johnsond Be plainer and more structured please. Start at the beginning. What's this all about?
  14. What a coincidence. I was just thinking about bolstering the springs on my van a few hours ago.

    Free trees

I can’t take any but thanks for offering. Nice thing to do.
  16. Can you start a thread about that please. I’d be interested to read it.
  17. Crap photo. Quite like the Spanish headstock/tuners with steels. I can’t imagine ever buying a nylon strung guitar with them, or indeed one at all. Won’t do the squeals from Psychosocial.
  18. The manufacturers themselves may well be the best people to talk to. I’ve had very useful conversations with Marlow, English Braids and Teufelberger.
  19. My first guitar was a big Tanglewood acoustic. Later looked at what else was available and, slightly overwhelmed, decided it wasn’t worth trying to decide between brands so I’d just buy Tanglewood acoustics from then on. Freed up acres of brain space. Now have three Tanglewoods in service and broke the rule once for a really thin Ibanez. One of the guitars I regret not buying was a stained green Tanglewood telecaster with gold hardware but the rule doesn’t extend to electrics so the loss is of lesser consequence.
  20. I was between a Faith Mercury in PMT and the equivalent Tanglewood in Windows the other day. Tanglewood won.
  21. A vasectomy is also quick and straightforward.
