  1. I think it does the opposite of blend in. It’s at least a bit grubby now. It was gleaming silver when it arrived and the water repellent finish absolutely refused to hold mud for weeks. That’s a medium on a 5’8” athlete btw. Arktis says in their sizing blurb to not go a size up because they’ve already allowed for body armour etc. I’m a medium in everything and I could have still coped with a large in this to cover my thighs a bit more.
  2. Americans need to be camouflaged like prototype cars to blend in outside the US.
  3. Went another direction and got an Arktis B310 DP (special Danish filth version). Quite heavy and too warm when moving even moderately fast but for shuffling along with my hands in my pockets, waiting for the dog to piss so we can go home, ideal. I still don't like looking warry but the pockets are very useful. So useful that I'm prepared to look even warrier if I can find a B211 or B220 at a good price and have more pockets. I suspect the water resistance would be good enough a lot of the time. Could add a size up Ridgeline over the top of it on dedicated rainy days... Whatever. Got this one now. No use for tree work unless just sitting on a machine or rigging and telling other people to move things.
  4. Just busted packaging. Even the one with only 17 cans was a good deal.
  5. Wouldn’t dream of it usually but 18 cans for a fiver so couldn’t reasonably decline.
  6. Trigger's fine. It's definitely that brush (seeing as nobody's explicitly corrected me, I'm going to assume I have the names of things right). It's now just a matter of how to smoosh it inwards consistently or replace it. How long are they to start with?

    Homemade Jerky

I love Aussies. They're what Yorkshiremen should be but aren't.

    Homemade Jerky

I once stayed with an Aussie mate in Oxford before a job somewhere down there. 07:00 and I'm needing to get out of the door. He decides this is the ideal time to continue the conversation from twelve hours previous about the nuances of yeast spreads from both hemispheres. Six or seven varieties out of the cupboard. Van keys in my hand, looking at my watch. **************** sake, Josh.

    Splitter.
  10. There was a fairly old Unimog, done up and fitted with a Passat engine on tree facebook the other day. If you wanted something with the comfort of a Land Rover but less convenient to get into.
  11. Milwaukee I despise waste and like fixing.
  12. I was thinking about this earlier. Seems the obvious course but people do like their big comfy trucks.
  13. I bet some Aussie type utes have three in the front. Wasn't some vaunted variety of Land Cruiser recently reintroduced here?
  14. Land Rover...
  15. It’s not abundantly obvious how it comes apart. Any ideas?
  16. I concur on the king cab matter. Always struck me as the best compromise by miles. Three in the front would be handier still.
  17. Symptom: Light goes on but drill doesn’t turn. Will turn a bit if you start it by hand. Happened a few months ago. Took it apart. It fixed itself. Happened again now. Here’s what I’m looking at. 1. 2. 3. As far as I can tell, the bent tabs in pic 2 that have springs under them press the scalloped carbon things (brushes I assume?) onto the middle turny bit (commutator?), visible through the hole in pic 3. How do I know when a brush needs replacing as opposed to just pressing into the commutator harder? Pressing the back of the tab gets more drill speed. How do I get them out? Did consult YouTube last time. Didn’t find anything very useful. Feel free to direct me to an actually pertinent video. P.S. Haven’t electrocuted myself yet but the night is young.
  18. I hit an owl in the van a couple of years ago. Saw it in a (small) town centre and thought it was a weird place for an owl to be. It set itself on a long collision course with the van. I thought, “That looks weird. But it’s a super sharp predator. It’ll pull off some evasive manoeuvre at the last second.” So I kept going. It didn’t and I picked it out of the roof rack down the road. Wondered for ages what caused it to be so dozy. The town in question is Tow Law btw. 2000 alcoholics clinging to the side of a quite bleak hill. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was on spice.

My mate’s got a whippet and border terrier cross. Smashing thing. Chin up.
  21. Send in the WPCs and not one more drop of blood need be spilled.
  22. I've made good ones without it before. A vegan girlfriend made good ones now I think about it. **************** knows what fat she used for them.
