  9. thanks , i will take this all into consideration when putting my final thoughts onto paper, thanks for helping now , whers my spade?
  10. il keep it simple and stick to the spec - from what i believe they have given me a spec on pits and the tree species and i am the boy to do the 'dirty' work as all previous inspections and tests have been made. one last thing , cant find any information on this SLA ENMAG
  11. i did think this also , but if its in the spec and i follow it and cant be held responsible , but on the other hand maybe i should advise of this when i submit my quote:001_smile:
  12. excellant as i was thinking of a contained tree pit which if im honest at short notice cant quote for the work if that was the case . however '''Otherwise know as a whole in the ground with rough edges.'' sounds nice enough for me today
  13. been asked to do a job of remove some trees on a development site and then replant new stick elsewhere inc treepits . apart form removal / replant which is no problem anybody got any information on treepits ??? these are for small trees .. by the sounds of it a tree pit is just a hole (dont fancy digging with a spade) to plant them in and filled with the relivant soil mix which has been specified, or is the tree pit a contained area to stop root growth outside of an area??? thanks , any help or input whatever it may be is always usfull:thumbup1: here is the spec ===== TREE PITS - Sizes: 1000 x 1000 x 600mm for selected standards. - 1200 x 1200 x 1000mm for extra heavy standards. - Sloping ground: Maintain horizontal bases and vertical sides with no less than minimum depth throughout. - Pit bottoms: With slightly raised centre. Break up to a depth of 150mm. - Treatment: Soil ameliorant worked into pit bottoms. - Pit sides: Scarify. - Backfilling material: Two parts topsoil and one part tree planting and mulching compost. - 150 grams of SLA Enmag or similar and approved slow release fertilizer. - 100 grams of broadleaf P4.

    Wood Chip

because i dont create alot of chip (few loads a month) this option is ideal if you leave it for a year , which is the route im taking-- i once paid £30 for a full load of mulch in my tranny with high sides - drove to a customers house and he paid £120 --- a dumpy bag was going for £100 , i gave him about 4 bags worth... for people out there with land , if you produced alot of chip it wouldnt take long to get your outlay back -- and you get to buy a tractor maybe , even if its a **** one
  22. must be realy hard for people to start up 'striaght away' with big debt over there head , i realy couldnt sleep at night with that over my head but i understand some need to, epecialy if the treework was your only income .. i spent a few years building kit while at college and having full time job to pay for training and house. still have 2 jobs but they run hand in hand , the other jobs pays the bills , the treehugging buys the tools , another year il be happy to start takign a wage.... recon ive spent 12k so far - next stump grinder
  23. the thing i like about a reduction is you can use it to sway a customer to keeping there tree that tbh would break my heart if i cut it down -- worked today
  24. we get plenty people thru the doors with vans/commercial stuff - i always say , sorry , dont do commercials , simply because joe public only want to pay a few hundred quid for a quick 'flash over' they look at my bro's bettle , a very nice show winning car and think they can get a tranny paint for a few hundred and look the same lol remember , pay cheap pay twice
