  1. hello , can anybody point me to some tip sites in the newcastle / durham areas most waste is chipped and logs , occassional brash too ( like this weekend when my chipper didnt want to play ball at all ) i know of a place in newburn , sandhills i think charging £30+vat per tonnage i load of advice would be great , i do keep alot of wood for my burner but you can only keep so much
  2. husky , nice n liteweight ...until i can get a 200t ,then il use both depending on job (but not at same time) so my votes - pointless
  3. ..im just starting out , i quote what i feel is fair, thou my overheads are very small unlike the larger guys --- thou i dont charge pennies but whats is the going rate for every job??? i also run a garage with my brother , we have the same probelm there , we charge fair , we get the work , we try to charge the proper rate like the big boys , and we do a better qualtiy job , customers walk away even thou we have all the right gear same in every trade win some lose some i say, laugh it of at times, if we were all paul mackena's/Derren browns we might have a chance

  5. im happy with mine as im just starting out , perfect for little jobs as i keep anything 4' and above for firewood - thou maybe 1day if work picks up and i need to buy a tipper il go for a big chipper , but ££££££ when ur starting out isnt always what you have in ya pocket

  7. im taking it out this weekend so il update my findings .. will still use a prussik loop on regular occasions , so still keeping it 'oldskool'
  8. update - took back to shop , cam was fitted in back2front from the factory.. fixed now but seems somebodys been eating to many biscotties on the production line and not paying attention
  9. doesnt slacken off when i take wieght off , and it binds constantly thats why i knew 90% it isnt right what a great toy it seems , looking forward to a working copy
  10. cheers guys ... nar , theres defo something not right with the item , il take it back this week ... i could use a 11mm rope no bother,any larger and it wont fit thru the hole without brute force and i always use 13mm so im not going to change .. not happy realy cos was looking forward to some batman style walking. hope to report back as its seems so far i shouldnt have any problems:thumbup1:
  11. just got a spiderjack 2 - i looked at peoples views, bought it , read the book , looked at the pictures and went to set it up. now , what a total nightmare to put the rope (13mm newengland) thru the correct way , i thought striaght away this isnt right , looks more like a hole for smaller rope .. got it set up after ages.. device doesnt pull thru any slack when u try to accend . so my question is , if any of u guys use 13mm rope , doesnt it runn nice a freely in the spiderjack with no problems , if yes , ihave a faulty item cos i cant see anything else unless im realy stupid which im not. or do they have 2 different size changable parts for say maybe a 11mm rope and a 13mm , book says it doesnt but the germans might be lying .. many thanks in advance
