5. My name is James Atkinson and i am offering my climbing services to all of Lincolnshire. Self employed with 10 years experience National Diploma in Foresty and Arboriculture All necessary CS tickets I work to a high level with modern tree climbing techniques and outlook on tree care. All types of work undertaken from reductions of any scale too large technical dismantles. What sets me apart from the usual contract climber is the equipment i can provide. I have my own :- full climbing kit :- lowering kit (stein bollard, dmm blocks, whooplie slings, the lot) :- High sided aluminium tipping truck which can be hired out along with me for an extra cost, increasing your work load. Unfortunately i do not have my own large saws. All i ask is good notice before you would like the job doing. email me on :[email protected]
6. this has what has been holding me back on choosing a srt device, i prefer mechanical over knots, in fact i hate knots haha so this is what i want once i get my hands on it
7. how do we get one kevin?
8. how do we get one then mate?
9. video drew please haha
10. yea watch that video i put up under my comment mate, it will direct you to youtube that will tell you everything u need to know
11. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/kKK3omXV1Lk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
12. rope guide hands down, both the other climbers in my company use the pulleysaver, and they do tend to get stuck more, plus with a rope guide you can throw it over above you, set it up, and then just pull on the tail end to tighten it all up, hope that makes sense , watch this video, also the new pulleysavers use the smaller pinto pulley, not even a scratch on the cacoon, also the solid ring is a lot better for retrieval, if you use spiderjack or lockjack, i can't see why anyone wouldn't want one to be honest, there designed to work together.
13. i would go hitch climber and pulleysaver first mate if the moneys tight
14. i do find the spiderjack personally comes into its own on dismantles, but thats my personal opinion, i find the self tending has made my climbing a lot easier/faster since i crossed over from a hitch, but that might be just me, as everyone says its takes a good while to get used to a spiderjack compared to the knots, and the initial set up can be expensive, i.e smaller diameter rope (samson velocity is best) spiderjack with the mods and a good pulleysaver will cost you 100s, depends if you want to take that risk haha
15. as long as we smash sunderland tomorrow all will be forgiven, and we loose the big fat controller lol, sorry for the derail everyone
16. any idea on what size rope it takes and if it can be used as a second climbing line?
17. spiderjack might be up your street, check these videos out and thiis video shows how it all works the second one is worth a full watch mate, hope it helps
18. don't get me started on that game, or loosing cabaye, magpie fans have it hard i tell you
19. got a question on the kelly kettle, i have about 20 min break usually, no more, would i realistically have time to prep a fire, light it and boil water in 20 mins? or would i be better of with something like a jetboil?
20. split popular with was a bit awkward, rigged it unto the polar behind, and roped the butt back to one of the conifers so it couldnt all role into the pond next to it, got myself anchored in the popular and conifer, all went fine, early day
21. so close to buying a gransfors splitting maul
22. can you use the positioner as a second climbing line if that makes sense, using your lanyard as a second line?
23. nothing yet, bought it just for set the other week, i use velocity for drt but it would not be long enough for srt, i noticed your local mate, what company are you with? i know this is a separate thread but what base anchor are you using gerbutt?
