  1. I'm presuming your using the elastic as a neck ascender?
  2. Prefer spider jack, last longer, easy to replace the cam when it wears away, self tends better, and doesn't crack, BUT it does take a lot longer to get used too than the zigzag, zigzag is prob the most natural mechanical device, spider jack will deal like a death trap for the first week. If you want to go srt order a rope runner or bulldog bone
  3. http://www.kiwiklimbers.com/#!kkstore/c21wa Looks for the little spring on the page, pretty simple really
  4. There are simple ways of locking the kiwiklimbers, I'll try and find some pics for everyone
  5. That is a good video, not too long, and rocking the prussic!
  6. Then you find out treekit already makes these and have two to compare before you buy haha
  7. And does it fit the monster pfanner boots lol
  8. Same as above, I have the double snapper for trees that that are near anything too hard
  9. Enjoyed that, I'm enjoying all these new srt work videos coming out, home made haas system or he real deal out of interest?
  10. Interesting video, and amazing skills, worth a watch
  11. Firing it as it shows me in the pictures, I have a feeling it was the angle I was firing it, almost firing the throw pod into itself if that makes sense, and the more annoyed I got with it, the more it happened lol
  12. Can that happen pretty easily?
  13. Thanks Darrin but like I said it's practically new so I'm not sure I need new rubbers
  14. For some reason today, my big shot would just not fire my throw pod, it was Just getting stuck in the pouch or twisting around the rubber bands, strange because if not had this problem before, to be fair I havnt had it that long but still? Anyone else had this problem? Is it just my technique on the day? Strange
  15. Enjoyed that, bone looks slick, how are you getting on with those boots? Need a new pair and fancy something less clumpy than my pfanners
  16. The best carabiner is the isc mini hms, I just left the carabiner on the swivel all the time with a beal pinch too keep it in place, and put the spiderjack on it like that, worked fine for me.
  17. I wasn't arguing or saying dsrt isn't good, I have used it in the past when I needed too, big spread out trees and so on, I also still use my spiderjack when I feel it is quicker. The beauty of our job is that every tree is different so it's important to have arsenal of kit. But I would not use dsrt on every climb for the sake of it. Whatever is the fasted, safest way to get you home
  18. Dsrt, correct me if I'm wrong is using two srt devices, two roperunner a or wrenches etc etc, for me I can't see me using it a lot, I really don't have time to mess around with it all, I can see how it will be a lot safer a lot more comfortable, but being a contract climber on other peoples work I just don't get the time, even of it is harder with one srt line, in my head it's still quicker. Speed over safety haha
  19. Got a link mate?
  20. That kills my lower back though
  21. After I have spend 20mins throwbagging, 10mins to put my gear on, 10mins to put haas on, 20mins to out some ladders up because I have the throwbag stuck, 5mins to have a cuppa, I'm well fast
  22. Kicking off in here we should all meet up on one humongous job one day, then we can all stop showing off to each other lmao
  23. What I have read seen to often suggest it depends how your back naturally bends and your weight
