  1. Try and put away £20 a week. Old school saving will be worth it when things are tight. Also as above, there not worth anything second hand so keep it.
  2. To much friction with an elastic mech tether in my opinion. Tape Sling crossed over at your back bf clipped at the front or a Chester is the best I have found
  3. Sorry to hijack this thread mate. Been trying to contact your company today regarding an order. I also sent a WhatsApp like your website suggests. It’s seems that the delivery driver can’t find my house all week and I wanted the delivery number. Again sorry for the hijack
  4. That is good [emoji106] we need to get some of these old contributors out of the wood work! Arbtalk reunion
  5. Your right mate. Out of interest has there been a massive difference in people using the app since Arbtalk was on Facebook?
  6. For me, in this country it was reading and watching guys like Adam Bourne, Ian Flatters and Drew B that got me into SRT. It was pretty exciting to read and look forward to the next instalment from these guys and others on the first Rope wrench. It was like waiting for a CD being released back in the day [emoji23] before we had access to everything instantly. I have been reminiscing about old Arbtalk this week, feeling it has been changed by Facebook. But that’s a different story! [emoji23]
  7. What gas bottle would you use! Lol
  8. My spelling mistake. I meant gas bottle!
  9. What’s a he bottle mate?
  10. Yep questions- If I was to put a security post in front of my truck. How would you put a small he bottle in it? And would it be totally illegal to do so?
  11. Just wondering what everyone is slapping on their quotes and invoices regarding terms and conditions so your all covered for every possible situation. Re doing mine and it’s getting pretty lengthy [emoji23]
  12. Like everyone else has said., just keep going with it. I ended up leaving my ddrt kit in the truck and forcing myself just to use srt, from small trees to large trees. It all just clicked one day. I wouldn’t say it is faster on most trees but once you learn to redirect it’s certainly easier. I used to remember been knackered with bad wrists, which seems to have gone since moving to srt. Although it took ages for me to settle on a rope/device combo I liked. Ended up with an America Yale rope (no stretch) and a roperunner. Still love the hitchclimber with a knut knot and wrench though.
  13. Would you travel with the cover on? Looks great
  14. Automatrics ltd answered myself
  15. What tracker is this? I must have missed it in all the excitement lol
  16. What tracker is this? Must have missed it in the excitement [emoji23]
  17. Where in Lincolnshire mate?
  18. I’m just in the process of getting a Mitsubishi canter fuso, would anyone upgrade the springs or are they good enough without? It’s the twin rear wheels. Also this is a super thick question but do I need to put adblue in it?
  19. Haha! So if I’m the worst case scenario something goes wrong would it be down to myself or the individual company? Should that be written into the method statement?
  20. So this is the questions. If I was to be doing a job with 2 other companies, both with their own public liability etc. Would we individually do the method/ risk assessments for each individual company, or would one by myself do the job? Throw in the mix that it would be a voluntary job NOT a payed job. I don’t care either way I just want to do it correctly.
  21. I like the fact he’s very pleased with himself! I use this technique on small stuff, when a tree needs like one of two easy branches to lower
  22. Where did you take your 7.5t driving course mate? Looking around to get the best price
  23. £100 sounds very useful. Bearing just went on my chipper [emoji23][emoji23]
  24. For whatever reason we do a lot of big tree Rigging. Not because I’m some hot shot it just seems to be what we get asked to quote. In my personal opinion friction at the top via natural crotches is all well and good on smooth trees or small trees, but as soon as you go through a few folks the friction produced is a real pain in the ass for groundsmen. It doesn’t take a lot to become annoying pulling the line back up to the climber, even not being able to lower the branch. The other issue is without pulleys it’s near on impossible to be able to lift or pre-tension branches, which is kinda important when removing trees. We use a ArbPro Which bollard similar to a GRCS, hands down the best thing in big tree rigging I have ever used. Again this would be pretty useless with natural forks. We don’t have 200ft Eucalyptus trees that grow straight up in the uk allowing us to tie the branches close to the trunk and just cut them off, our trees are often as wide as they are tall, over a green house, shed, house, fence, baby’s, and roads. Basically I’m trying to say...,we need the shiny stuff
