  3. I enjoyed a great dinner at home with my Kim, and a card. My Kim received a nice card and an IPAD. I think she is still recovering from the shock of the IPAD, confidence is high she will make a full recovery. easy-lift guy
  4. How did you get a Gig like this? easy-lift guy
  5. Ted is using the saws and my friend Chris is running the Terex. Chris was having the old house demo so the trees were actually fun to take down. The location was Laurel, Florida. USA easy-lift guy
  6. Just some videos of treework I did last October. Wanted to post for a few friends who haven't seen it.
  7. Good for you sir. easy-lift guy
  8. I think he did have a safety harness on just not attached to anything else other than himself. Guess he did not need it after all, if he is still alive? easy-lift guy
  9. It's called an analogy, believe it or not trees have an ability to grow back after being trimmed or pruned back. Yes it takes a lot of energy to recover from pruning and some trees do respond better that others depending on many factors. FYI I do have a basic knowledge of Biology and understand photosynthesis. It seems earlier on in this thread that a company has stated it has the job of clearing said trees in question. Maybe there work does not meet your standards or perhaps you have a different philosophy regarding care and maintenance?. TBH your replies to this thread left me a little shocked as well, so much for the shock factor. easy-lift guy
  10. Skyhuck, I think it is the will to live and that sort of thing, hair for that matter grows faster in the summer than any other time on humans,as far as feeding I have never considered having my mouth stitch 1/2 way or otherwise, guess I could be fed by IV? all this has something to do with unnecessary branch removals:001_huh: easy-lift guy
  11. I think it would ask for a hair cut so to speak. easy-lift guy
  12. I believe in pruning a tree with what one has to work with all things considered. Some will take better than others. Sound cultural practices including proper watering and feeding along with pruning for the life of the tree will better insure a long healthy life for the tree. I have never heard that pruning over extended limbs or a tree with weak unions is not good for the evolution of the trees as a whole?. I believe that the work of proper pruning works with the present type tree in question and not carry over by seed into future generations easy-lift guy
  13. NI, I believe your very close to the mark. Over here it could be up wards to $30,000 to $50, 000 depending on how well prepared you want to be. Whats in your budget is most important. Work and save for other things later on, later on will be there soon enough if your work speaks for it's self! easy-lift guy
  14. Wow, now I am At least here in the States most Arborist or Tree surgeons generally prune trees for both the benefit and health of the tree and the owner. Removal of trees can and should be done when other options have been exhausted. Exotic and invasive species should always be removed due to many problems associated with them:thumbup1: I look forward to other opinions. even from Skyhook. easy-lift guy
  15. If you decide to make this adventure make sure once you arrive to register with your Embassy or consulate give them all forwarding information if something happens, also in the event you loose your passport or the like you will have a better chance of getting your documents replaced sooner than later. All the best. easy-lift guy
  16. I disagree, A fellow colleague in this industry, Doctor Edward F. Gillman from the University of Florida has dedicated his professional life teaching proper pruning techniques for trees and has done extensive research at the U of F to back up his findings. His most recent publication An Illustrated guide to pruning 3rd edition is the finest edition I have read on this subject matter and is easily read and understood. Full disclosure, Doctor Gillman asked me about a year if I would be willing to provide Two pictures of my product for this publication. I did so and I receive no funding or income from the sale of this book. Perhaps if you get a chance to read some of Doctor Gillmans works you may have a different opinion. easy-lift guy
  17. Over here in the States we use Reese Hitch kits or the like, should be available in the UK?. easy-lift guy
  18. LOL, and let me guess his head is in the shape of a Peanut:laugh1: easy-lift guy
  19. If possible see if there is any service history associated with make/model your interested in. That can tell a lot about what has been done and what will be need to be done pretty quick. Otherwise check all of the usual items including tires belts fuel lines wiring carb and fuel tank if the fuel smells spoiled or old, that could be additional work down the road. of course give it a test run and make sure the blade is engaged during this try out. If the engine seems to be struggling during this try out or the transmission is sloppy think twice about the purchase same if it is hydrostatic and check all hydro lines and connections for leaks or cracks. Happy Hunting. easy-lift guy
