  1. LOL, That answer takes the cake:thumbup1: Thanks Ted
  2. So I guess these two persons hold the record for the longest members in the chat room. Seems like they don't have anything to type about and even less to comment about. So again who are Karol or Kin. Inquiring minds or at least this one wants to know? Thanks easy-lift guy
  3. Apathy breeds dissension which in turn can and will destroy civilization as many members presently know it very quickly. The problem with sitting back and enjoying the show is that when the show is over who is left to clean up what's left, much less start over!. easy-lift gut
  4. Considering the savarity of the reckless behavior of the employee I feel written documentation and having same employee sign off on said document should help the employee to understand his role to avoid future mistakes or worse. I just read Jay's response after he had his chat. If Jay is willing to work with his employee that is fine, however keep it by the book. easy-lift guy
  5. Make sure your words are in private and I would also document the conversation and have the employee sign and date this document file it with this employees records. easy-lift guy
  6. Would depend on company policy and or an employee handbook explaining what is expected of said employees. I would be curious if company policy or a employee hand book exist? easy-lift guy
  7. Maybe. The new technology would have to have significant improvements over existing technology for the PTO to even consider. A design Patent has One Claim, which for instance could be an ergonomic handle grip that reduces the risk of HAVS or RMS. Now that would be a very clever design and one the PTO would likely consider as Patentable. A utility Patent has More than one claim or feature that really puts it above the rest of the competition, hence better chances for a patent being granted and having same patent not busted by another competitor. Really depends on how much greater your Mousetrap is compared to the competition along with having a business plan and timing:thumbup1: I wish the OP. All the best easy-lift guy
  8. No sweat Bren. I believe your point. I guess my point was that out of everything I had to do to introduce my product to the UK the securing of the CE mark was the least involved aspect overall. easy-lift guy
  9. Relatively tough, received my CE stamp sometime ago. No issues:thumbup1: easy-lift guy
  10. Good points. Just some additional ones to also consider. Although the OP may have a great new mouse trap the bottom line is how much money is available to invest based on many considerations. Funding is going to be very challenging unless the OP is self funding this entire venture. Securing a Patent say for the UK much less any other country will not guarantee any degree of security real or otherwise. If the OP decided to secure patents covering multiple countries one must understand the cost and responsibility. Just because someone or company has a patent does not protect the owner of said Patent. That protection comes later if someone or another company violates said patent and a Judge or Jury decides in favor of the plaintive or defendant. The cost to go to court and defend your IT property rights are the defendants. If the defendant prevails the plaintive may have to pay damages and cost, however he or she may also appeal. This becomes really expensive, unless the OP has pockets like 10 miles deep they really need to understand the risk associated with such a venture. I would not recommend showing the product to anyone even after the Patent pending period has taken place unless a good strong business plan is in place going forward to market and sell your product. Depending on weather the OP has a Design Patent which would have only One claim or a Utility Patent which has many claims and generally more difficult to copy or create from scratch may also determine how and when to enter the market place. I do know that if an existing product can be improved upon in such a way that was not known or though of in the first place a different patent can be issued in lieu of an improvement, At least that is the way the USPTO works here stateside. Best regards easy-lift guy
  11. Your idea or suggestion is not new or novel. That said since I have read similar threads here stateside and have come to the conclusion that present technology does not support your idea. First off the market to support the capital outlay for such an experiment is not present. Second the inconvenience of having multiple battery packs and charging pods or stations portable or on job site raises the cost and theft level exponentially. I understand that the use of battery powered equipment is on the rise in some parts of the world and that is good however, the manufactures of said technology are not generating enough real profit to push product development and design to levels your looking for. I do not believe this technology will be ready and economically viable for many years if at all to come. easy-lift guy
  12. David, That was a nice video and the time laps presentation kept the attention span of this viewer keyed into the presentation. Music choice was spot on as well. Thanks easy-lift guy
  13. Happy Birthday, Stubby!. Many Happy Returns. easy-lift guy
  14. Evening all, when shooting any video the amount of time required from raw footage to finished 3 to 5 minutes can take many hours. That said I agree with the amount of time suggested since the limited attention span of most folks starts to wain after 3 minutes or so. Of course the amount of additional footage unrelated can tastefully be included. For instance a groundie of the female persuasion well proportioned may assisting with the removal of brash and sending gear up to the climber as needed. I often find the groundie not receiving enough credit for all the hard work done, at least that is this ground dwellers opinion. Adam tell Jason I said Hi. easy-lift guy
  15. Actually Shane is voicing his personel and professional point of view. The tree that broke and crushed the bus with injury to the driver and passengers really should of been removed by the simple act of using common sense many years before this incident took place. IMHO there are many reasons for the tree to have broken in half when and how it did. Common sense really can make the difference in many cases when it comes to avoiding injury and destruction. Some folks actually exercise it, others only read about it and wonder why it's not practiced more often. easy-lift guy
  16. I heard of working off commission but that is ridiculous. Woodwasp, if you can't move the equipment to a neutral site don't bother trying to sell it for all of the other reasons already stated. easy-lift guy
  17. No phone calls, no emails, office is closed, all on Sunday. Day of rest from work. House chores are another story. easy-lift guy
  18. Visit your local grocer and ask for any and all vegetable or fruit boxes, especially banana boxes. As has been related by others the parifin coating is fantastic. I have used this material for many a camping trip and the results have always been consistent and positive. easy-lift guy
  19. David, Do you have an annual budget or operating budget?. I believe most of your cost that you have mentioned could be considered fixed cost. Once you have a budget established as to how much you actually need to live off of to cover your work expenses/living expenses you will have a better picture of how much to charge to cover said expenses and earn a profit. easy-lift guy
  20. They will never forget that bus trip. Guess it might even rate as a crash course in Arborculture, all kidding aside I am glad no one was seriously hurt. easy-lift guy
  21. Many years ago the act of saying sorry or excuse me or pardon me was very common place and acceptable behavior. At least in my parents home and in any social gatherings. Regrettably weather it be in public or with even less privacy on line the number of social mal contents and half wits is really astonishing on any given day. I find AT to be a refreshing change to what I have seen and read on line as far as American forums are concerned. Today's culture in the USA deems words like sorry or excuse me or pardon me as foreign words or phrases. I like the one when I am at a show in the states and folks will come up to me and say, I bet your from the north east?, I do have to agree and continue my pitch since I am on the job. What was even more humorous last APF was several visitors that stopped by to see the Easy-Lift Harness actually though I was from either Australia or NZ. I did assure them that I was American and that was fine, although one gentalman did think I was Canadian and I guess the expression on my face made him imedlatley say he was sorry!. We both had a good laugh at that point after I assured him I would not hold his opinion against him. easy-lift guy
  22. As a Ground Dweller I raise your ladder with my extension ladder and Two Bow Saws:sneaky2:. Really a classic example of working so hard and nearly finishing up at room temp:thumbdown: easy-lift guy
  23. Continuing to capture market share, expanding production, improvements on original design and function of product line. 2014 was the biggest year in the companies history so I remain confident that I will have my work cut out for me for 2015 and beyond. Thanks to all members that have made the investment to work smarter, not harder! easy-lift guy
