10. hi had a simulare problem my self on a kubota after many hours checking and cleaning i just swopped the ends over on the pipes on the trailer been ok since.
11. Hi used a lot of different liquids and clraners over the years some work some dont but by far i have found methes to be about the best and all so its not expensive couple of quid for 500ml and that will last a couple of monthes all so use it on my hands for removing resin.
12. hi yes it was i asked you about your 661
13. Hi we are also based in Lancs we purchased one about 20 monthes ago and have to strongly agree with greygit flat dry land ok,flat wet greasey land a bit of a no go and any sort of incline a big NO we tipped ours over about 7 or eight times in a week, and one thing to look at is i dont think there is a quad out there that is designed and built to tow/pull a trailer that weighs approx 500kgs empty and then 1500kgs plus when its loaded i got that fed up with ours that i set to with grinder and cut it up redesigned it and made it wider for better stabilaty and beefed it up to carry 2 tonne and bought a 40hp kubota 4wd tractor to pull it moved about 500 tonne with it and had NO problems since i rebuilt it, but its got a lot more going for it as it is now than it did before
14. Hi all, we here at SE Forestry supplied the timber for this event and myself and one employee went along to have a look at what was happening, now carving is not up my street really but what i so blew my mind we where there for about 3 1/2 hrs and to see the sculptures taking shape was spectaculare i for one will definatley be going again as i think for a first event i thought it was excellent and i will give Simon all the support i can to help him make this a succesfull yearly event, well done to all involved and to the guys that took place in the event cant wait till the next one, Regards Gary.

16. Hi all can any one help me out on this one i am looking for a log peeler debarker attatchment that fits on to a chainsaw power head its basically a rough planer that removes the bark, been on utube and found 3 a rotaflex, eder and a log wizard, the log wizard looks like it belongs in a toy box so thats a no no,the eder one is very simulare to a granberg one that i used 30 years ago but granberg have not made them years so not been available for some time now.found a sourse for bothe the rotaflex and eder but the cost is putting me off as it is more expensive than a new pro saw. has any body got one of these attatchments that is for sale or know the where abouts of one any help on this would be a result many thanks.
17. Hi just sorted all this my self before christmas, there are one or two grey areas on this subject, but just used our tractor and forwarding trailer for a nptc FMOC accessment and all requirments met, firstly are you using a tractor and forwarding trailer ? if so (1) does the tractor have a ROPS cab roll over protction system, if yes all is good (2) where is the crane and grab controlled from ? if it is from the cab and the oporater does not need to get out, thats good as well, there for you would NOT need a loller certificate, if you was stood next to the trailer or sat on a high seat on the trailer oporating the crane then you would need a loller certificate,i got quoted £300 + VAT for a 1hr inspection and that was every 6 monthes, it cost me £185 to make 16 28" extension pipes up and hang the spool valve on the back of the cab its a no brainer, and one less thing to worrie about,i hope this helps you solve your problem, it is on the HSE website and is explained very clearly about loller certs and forestry machines.
18. Hi Hodge we use whitehouse products for all our hydraulic issues, they are a large company at port glasgow, they carrie hundreds of differant pumps and are very helpfull they will cross referance the part number etc and fit you up with a pump order before 5pm and there morning after fantastic service.
19. Hi we have a Kubota L3250 4wd ,easy to manover as its just 5 foot wide,i think its 42hp, pulls well, runs on next to nothing i.e 3 days powering a 4.2 tonne winch £12 of diesel,we all so use a 2 tonne forwarding trailer behind it again 5 foot wide which allows us to manover about in tight spaces, very capable little tractor and well worth thinking about but they demand high prices thats if you can find ONE took me best part of 5 monthes to find ours. hope this helps.
20. hi we have a Kubota l3250 4 wd i think its 42hp good to manover as its just 5 foot wide pulls well , runs on next nothing i.e 3 days powering a 4.2 tonne winch £12 very capable machine
21. hi i can help you out, currently sorting a windblowm stitka site and felling some lodge pole, timber will be well in your spec, and could deliver depending on quantity, interested Gary on 07763013024, P.S have you advertised for large hardwood before ? as i have some large beech coming up.
22. Hi took my dad for his 70th birthday along with 2 other guys about 4 years ago very interesting place well worth any one traveling to if you are interested in this sort of thing,if it had been up to my dad and his mate we would of still been there now i thought we where never going to get home, 2 hours you say, 5 1/2 hours and 5 cups of tea later.
23. Stihl ms362 all the way on that 1 for me as said before stihl may be sligtly slower but dont see the workshop as often as 1 of my lads husky.
24. read most of the replys and some good points put forward,i have 35 years expierence with chainsaws and use 1 or 2 evrey working day from a ms 241 to a ms 660 i have all ground based NPTC certificates (all up to date) from cross cutting logs to multiple wind blown i fell trees from 6" to about 5 foot in diameter and have done for many years now, so does this make me a COWBOY as i have not got a climbing certificate ??? there are a lot of things in life that need to be addressed and sorted out but unfortunally it will never happen and buying chainsaws is ONE of them, it sounds to me that you have had a job or two pinched by the traveling com and have a axe to grind. OR DO YOU NEED CLIMBING CERTIFICATE TO BUY ONE OF THEM THESE DAYS.
25.
hi i see you have a thread stating that you are looking for 100t of soft wood in the north west i may be able to help you out. Gary 07763013024.
