  1. Lads in building next to me have one and there making steel framed buildings, load all buckets and all agri repairs etc, but there,s wont be 480 quids worth tho, more like 3/4k as they are cutting every day with it, seen them cutting 40mm plate with it a few wk back and made a very tidy job in quick time,, i would think the machine you quote above will do owt you want to do, you all so need a compressor as well which i will suspect you all ready have,,
  2. I dont even think all the photos are taken at the same place ? or same time ? personally i would not be sending any money with out seeing it and fetching it away with me, as said before there is nothing in the back ground in the photos , this all ways makes me very wary of adds like this,, many years ago i went to some deserted farm buildings and i am near on 100% sure every thing stored there was dodgy,,,,, Look else where for one,
  3. I seen one working about 4 yrs ago and i thought exactly the same, when i thought about it i did look at them and a few others, havent got one yet as my timber job has not come off yet,
  4. one or two points i dont really agree with here, how many saws do Echo sell ? and how many saws do Stihl sell ? i think the sale numbers will be miles apart with Stihl selling a lot more than Echo so there are bound to be more problems posted about Stihl, the quote you make about Stihl dealers not helping with warranty ? simple reason for that is some one askes there local dealer for a price on a saw and its £30 more than buying it on line from a shop 200mile away, they buy on line and them take to local dealer to get fixed under warranty, Ok dealer has to fix it but it dont say when in the warranty, if i was a Stihl dealer and this happened the said saw would just be put on the list and have to wait its turn,, One thing i have lern,t over the years is dont piss your local dealer off, i but saws from 2 local shops and the saw goes back to the one it was bought from and the service has all wats been very good, like drop it in on way home and ready to collect day after at dinner, As for mtronic and the injection system giving problems and being junk, it sounds like you been reeding on the Stihl fans page on face ache ? had several mtronic saws and only ever had a problem with one and that was a very early Ms241 with mtronic, it was all sorted in a short space of time and only ever gave one more problem after that and that was a fuel solenoid but when saw was collected i was given the print out from dealer and the saw had done 460 odd hrs, so given that 460 hrs on a small saw in commercial forestry work with only 2 problems over 4 yrs i dont think is to bad really, The 500i well i know lads who work them saws 5/6 days a wk putting 7/8 ltrs of fuel a day through them and i only know of one that had a problem but i and others just think the problem was down to the bellend owner who has a awful habit of not concentrating on what he is doing and the times we have seen him fueling up and putting chain oil in both tanks, says it all i think,,
  5. Now when i was thinking of a mill back in November i asked someone who does a bit of milling about Woodland mills, and i asked him what they where like he just told me dont bother there crap ? i tend to differ on that one and i think he told me that, as he wants one but cant afford one !!!!
  6. must be one hell of a splitter for 7k, you would pick a decent processor up for that, if he aint willing to send you more photos i would say the photos are scamed photos and i would say the machine dont exist ?? one simple way to find this out is just ask if you can be there at 8/9am one morning with pick up or trailer to collect and pay when there, if answer is no as he is at work ask for a later time, if he is not willing to accomadate you and he only wants to deliver, i would not bother with it and look else where for one but be careful, some one i know in Manchester bought a ifor tipping trailer out of south Wales with a 48hr delivery time, here we are now 20mth later and still no trailer, sellers phone was dead with in 3 days, so no trailer and 3.8k lighter, be very careful, i dont know what splitter it is but if you gave us a link to the add or even a make/ model, i am sure some on here would addvise you on said item,,
  7. Em,, Boundary trees generally equal a metal content ?, as at some point in the trees life it will of had a fence fixed to it, the timber from Ash with Ash dieback is of generally low value due to its calorific value, possibly the only value would be the main stem but would depend on size and colour inside ?? There is a lot of work involved in what you asking and i would be surprised if any one would take this on , some photos and dimensions would help a lot to get a better idea,
  8. Did you or any one else spot Dillian Whyte,s tooth flying through the air ? Fury,s punch didnt look like it connected fully but to knock a tooth out it must of done, hence the the way Whyte was stumbling about, but Fury did land a punch about half way through the 5th round that looked as if it nearly took Whyte,s head off, may be that is where the damage was started, Whyte now wants a rematch as he is saying it was a illegal knockout as he was pushed and the ref didn,t give him enough time to recover,,,,
  9. just watched it and yes it was a bit of a lunge from Miller that cost em both, but it is not the first time nor will it be the last time we see a move like that, other wise good race amd good result,
  10. Mir, Zarco, Miller, cant really rule any out but i would like to see a dry track and i think Miller is in with a shout of a win, but we can never rule that man Marquez out, i am no fan of him but i have to admit he all ways seems to amaze me, And as for bike racing roll on the next 30 days and TT 2022 will be under way,,, bring it on,,
  11. And I said 6th round he would have it sorted out and he did, may be Eggs i should of took your addvise and had a flutter, 😒😒
  12. No,, he wants Joshua next then he can retire, if the result tonight is a a Fury win he will push for a Fury V Joshua fight but i cant see Joshua wanting to fight him with all the excuses he came out with after Fury beat Wilder last time,,
  13. Not a on line betting man but might chuck ten or twenty quid in the sweep stake in the pub, Fury is a top bloke in my eyes as he has spent a fair chunk of his winnings from the last Wilder fight on a old mill house and grounds about 400yds from me that was up for sale for about 1.2 million, he purchased it and it is now being turned in to a adventure centre for under privallaged kids, where they come and stop over for a few nights and do what normal kids do, My hat goes off to him,,,
  14. A lot of talk this last week about what is to be the biggest fight on British soil for a fair few years now, Most seem to have Fury as the big favorite but Whyte can punch and i just think he needs one lucky hit but getting that chance with Fury will be very very difficult, My thoughts are Fury will have it sorted by about the half way stage so i am going for round 6 with Whyte either flat on his back or the Ref stopping the fight, Whats every one else think ??
  15. Good job one or two of us know what we are doing Mick 😂
  16. Wrong, its as Mick has said above, you just simply bore in from the front where you have taken the gob cut out and take the heart of the tree out, hence the name heart cut, the cuts dont have to line up at all but better if they do or as near as possible,
  17. Fell up to 1.5x bar length ? was this a misprint ? as you should be able to fell a tree 2 and a half times the bar size, i,e saw with 20" bar you should be able to drop a 50" tree,,,,
  18. I dont think this guy would waste his time if they where not there to collect, as far as i know all paid for just need collecting,,
  19. I was lucky enough to use one of the very first 462s that was developed for trials through out europe in 2018, The saw was given to a lad who was hand cutting in the lake district and we ended up on a FISA refresher course together, i think all 6 of us there that day and we all said the same thing about it, it was well balanced, light, and very quick on the throttle, it handled well and cut very well, if i was looking for a new saw i think the 462 would be the one for me, after running 460s and 461s for many years with about zero problems i would be tending to stay with the same stable. i am now getting on a bit so the lighter the saw the better and the 462 is the lightest 70cc saw out there, either the 462 or the 500i would be a good buy, someone today has said to me, i am F - - - - - g sick of mending saws so tomorrow he is going shopping 2 new 261s 1 362 1 462 and a 500i, so if i play me cards right i might get his older saws for very little and it will give me something to do at nights,,,,
  20. The 500i is a saw that is very usable on a daily basis, the power to weight is 2nd to none and pulls a 25" bar n chain with ease, i think it states that they will run up to 36" ? but i am not 100% sure in that, i have used a 500i a fair bit with a 25" bar and very impressive saw, all so used one with a 20" bar and that is a real get on combination, both set ups with 25/20" bar are very well balanced and feel nice in your hands, i know several lads who used to be just Huskey but they got to use a 500 for a few hrs and then just went and bought one, and as one lad said to me one day that saw is a game changer in the saw world, i have only heard of one issue with a 500 and i think that was down to the plank who owned it ?, at the moment is i was in the market for a new saw in the 70/80cc class it would be a close call between the 462 and 500i, used both of them and not a right lot between them but as for power the 500 has the edge, the only problem i see with the 500 is it is a little thirsty compared to others but you cant have power and economy together, this is just my observations and others will tell you different, good luck and i hope you make the right choice,
  21. Easy Tiger 😂😂
  22. Oh dear, i just got shut of a bag of 6mm galved chain, i think it was 80ft long and had been used to moor a boat on Windermere for only one season, it was in a bag in the building and i was getting fed up of moving it, so i swapped it for a light board,,, You should be able to get some new chain with ease i would of thought, there is a lad near me who i use for a lot of stuff who supplies chain called A,T engineering, i think they would put it on a coriour for you, and they aint expensive either, hope this helps,
  23. Kubota will resell all day every day due to there reputation, and hold there money well, i think after 3 yrs the price difference could be as much as 8-10k between the 2 machines, I think Scott JCB are still doing machines on 0% as there is allways something new appearing in the yard next to me, 2 Fast tracks appeared lately,,,
  24. Its all part of getting older, been to several funerals this last 3 or 4 years of people i either worked with or shot with, some quite old and some not, got i mate over on the east coast who i think is just waiting for his number coming up and a family member in his late 30s who is battling cancer, Had a conversation with a lad who i knocked about with at school who ended up being a funeral director and he said to me one eve that he cant believe the amount of people he has laid to rest who was at school with us either a bit younger, same age or a bit older, but its like the saying goes, there is only 2 things in life that are garentee,d, one there going to screw the lid down on the box one day and two you are going to pay a shit load of tax on the way,,,
  25. I have noticed,, you keep coming back,, Decided to call that Cock Andy as he has be strutting about all day today and not doing much, 😂😂
