Kawasaki or Stihl would be my choice. I've heard good reports about the Echos also, but haven't tried one. Having just seen Shaveys post I'd be tempted to try out one of them, I'm assuming a Dolmar branded Makita lol...

Oh don't get me wrong I like to make something rather than buy it as much as the next guy. I just can't get to £40 including the steel, cutting disks, weldong rods or MIG wire and gas, if the bulk of that is the wheels? Economics of scale often make 'build me self me own ' to be a futile excercise. Sad but true.

Since we have so many good Samaritans on this site who want nothing more than a better life for these poor frightened souls from war torn lands... It'll never get boring to make a teeny weeny tongue in cheek comment about the 'superiority' of Husqvarna saws and watch the frothy-mouthed 'defenders of the realm' scrabble forward to their keyboards in outraged defence of their shiny orange scalpels.
