  1. I enjoyed reading that. Well said! What axe did she buy in the end?
  2. Try a wood grenade.. At least if you get shrapnel in your leg again you can say it's from an exploding grenade. Sounds more hardcore.
  3. Fantastic!
  4. Very nice. Thanks for making it viewable by non facebokkera like me.
  5. Lol. Too right. We need to keep it real round these parts. I realise the forum is designed for professionals, but when a self confessed amateur like me wants advice, the advice should reflect their circumstances, needs and budget. Example: B & Q: "yeah mate these McFly chainsaws, or McCulloch whetevvs is wicked mate. Yep they like the top of the range of what like chainsaws is makin like, proper good for like tree cuttin and stuff, yeah." Arbtalk: "spend the extra £1400 and get a 60cc pro saw from a local dealer along with the relevant tickets and an account with you local Aspen dealer. Your lungs will thank you. Get booked on a climbing course a.s.a.p and don't forget the Haix boots. Haix for Heroes. :thumbup1:" New Arbtalker: "I'll stick to my electric Makita chainsaw thanks"
  6. In that case, crack on.
  7. Can't remember. Here's a review site on them. Shindaiwa DH230 / DH231 / HT230 / HT231 Reviews - ProductReview.com.au
  8. I love your 'no bullshit' approach Eddy. Bravo.
  9. This is it in a nutshell. If the OP is near to me he can try my DCS4301.
  10. Non pro perspective: Strim, wait to dry. Mow with mulching mower at higher setting. Then re-now on lower cutting height. Job done.
  11. Agreed, I think these go for a lot more than stated. The list price on my makita was nearly £700 ages ago.
  12. Got to agree with this advice. I own the Makita DCS4301. Magnesium crankcase, hard as nails, rips through wood. If the Orange One is the same ? It's a bargain. I paid a lot more than that for mine many many years ago...
  13. Nice bush...
  14. I got this wrong, it's not the DH220's I own, it is in fact the DH230 model. Shindaiwa - The choice of the professional Rated! P.S. The DH220 looks a bit homeowner. (Pants)
  15. Well done Jon hope you're feeling better now! Don't stop with the brandy though mate, every operation needs 'aftercare':thumbup:
  16. Precisely. Turn up at the supermarket in your Arbtruck covered in sawdust, moaning that your £90 chinese strimmer broke after only 30 months of commercial use and they'll most likely tell you to bugger off. Send granny in with it instead
  17. Did I read that correctly? Joe Newton bought and used a Stihl?..?.? Back on topic.. Neil where are you located, I have a number of saws you are welcome to try. I'd even consider selling one if you're local. P.S. Joe, no the MS391 isn't for sale.
  18. Echo, Shindaiwa
  19. Brandy, swill it round. Swallow . Repeat.
  20. It's been emotional. We'll miss you.
  21. Shindaiwa DH220 Excellent trimmers, and very reasonably priced. 5 year domestic warranty, 2 year commercial.
  22. So can we deduce that the Florabest goes through grass like hot knife through margarine?
  23. Bloody good job mate! Only thing I'd add is a couple of lengths of flat steel across the front top and bottom with hasps at each end. 4 extra padlocks to angle grind might put thrives off. One won't.
  24. Thank you. Good review link and video.
  25. You're a braver man than me! Bravo.
