  1. I'm the biggest tech dummy around and even I can register my kit easily on the site. Great idea chaps. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  2. Specially for you Mark. It was scary because the Hiab guy said he was happy with the size. Then when it was about to tip he told me the crane will only lift 4T at that distance and the lorry payload was only 6T! When he drove off with the other logs on, I reckon he was 7-8T overloaded. Mental! 'Twas all good though and he was really good with his crane. Oh and BTW, the new groundie did ask for a pay rise the following week! I told him I'd sack him if he asks again. His performance has been 90% improved since then.
  3. I've been using one on my lanyard for a few years. No way I'd use it on my main line as it's impractical and not designed for this. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  4. That's what I wanted to say Arran but I was too scared. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  5. Is that Charles Hey's old Landy? Very nice. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  6. Looking at the picture, you should not have a problem with branch snapping when you are out in a pruning position. As you gain more experience you'll improve your technique but also learn how much a branch can bear. Also, don't branch walk backwards. By going forwards on the way out you can hold onto branches for stability.
  7. Still dark, cos it's 5:28am. It hasn't rained for five weeks.
  8. I need a full time groundsman or groundsman/climber. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  9. Told you. Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  10. Excellent! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  11. I'm on my 4th pair of Airstreams. First three were great. The midsole on the current ones started splitting after a few months and it now absorbs water. They are literally falling apart. My foot stays dry but i can hear the sole squelching. They'll need replacing before they are a year old! Rubbish Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  12. Crikey. It certainly looks expensive having a stand at a show. And then punters come along expecting mega discounts! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  13. Cool. That's how I used to descend on my LJ, when I was in mid air. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  14. Are you positive it's Thuja? (I'm looking on my phone) Has there been a change on the ground? eg: Soil dumped. Grass cuttings dumped. Has any landscaping been done nearby? When did it appear and could it be aphid damage? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  15. I think he wants you to go to the APF to see one. 😄 Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  16. Phanner have a very good helmet already on the market. It has the best ventilation system. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  17. "If you two don't stop arguing, I'll be taking my hand off your backsides!" "Stop that pillow fight, you'll have someone's eye out!" Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  18. Thanks Ian I understand what you mean about the preference thing. I spent years on a Lockjack and find a massive difference between mechanical and rope hitch. Can a comparison be made between a RR and SJ for descending? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  19. Don't put your coat on now or you won't feel the benefit! If the wind changes direction you'll get stuck like that! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  20. Licensing is the way to go. Trailer and HGV will be standard requirement in the near future. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  21. Yep, I think so. From the dog bone, direct the first wrap around your rope by passing the hitch cord over the HH spine first. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  22. Thanks for doing this Ian. It's mid line attachable isn't it? How would it compare to the Hitch Hiker or is that an impossible question? Thanks Al. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk mobile app.
  23. Auto Man. Baywatch. Airwolf. Monkey. A-Team. Baywatch. Baywatch!
  24. DMc just brought up a good point on another thread so I thought i'd post it here. He suggested to start your hitch wraps towards the spine of the HH because it holds the dog bone closer. I remembered that it took me ages to realise that last year! The photo in the link below is of wraps the 'other' way. 25. A 130 will only reduce your legal payload.
