  1. Wow, I've just wasted time reading the last four pages to discover that this thread has run it's course and is now bogged down IMO. People are starting to bicker about what is bickering! I think that all points were made very clear many pages ago and the one thing that stands out to me is that all the Moderators appear to have a united opinion on this subject. I may be wrong but they probably don't know each other very well on a personal level due to living all over the place, despite this, the overall view is the same. It should be obvious to everyone that the 'united opinion' is the RIGHT opinion for the greater good and that it is futile to contest it because you would be wrong. Just my opinion and I shan't visit this thread again because I'm more interested in the technique and equipment threads. Good luck to the greater good
  2. That first photo is exactly what I needed last week Adam. I was up a tree trying to remember what I'd seen on here but couldn't figure anything out. That looks really good and negates the need for slings, just carry some biners.
  3. That tending loop looks nice. How is it made? The stopper knots on the BeeLine look scary, there are no tails! Be careful there!
  4. Good job Ger. I've been using the Poison HiVee and that worked well with the supplied Beeline and 8mm Armor Pruss and best for me has been 6mm Liros (but you didn't hear that from me:blushing:). I'll echo what DMc said about over working the arms while you adjust to the new system and technique. The thicker rope will help at this stage. Have a look at the Hedera rope thread because apparently that is Kernmaster in a different colour and price. Keep the questions coming.
  5. Just been looking on the retailers websites and find that there is 1mm, 11.7mm & 13mm. I realise that the thread is about the 11mm but I wondered if anyone is using the 11.7mm because that would be more appealing to me. Thanks.
  6. My all time faves are Blazzin Saddles and almost anything with Ann Hathaway and Claire Danes.
  7. Good post Justin. I have noticed your absence on here recently and wondered why. I've always felt that your personal presence on here must be a tremendous boost for your business because your posts have always appeared concise and measured. I only point this out as an example to others. I will admit that I may have been a bit gobby in the past, when provoked, now I just look the other way to better things. Following on from the testimonials of others, I too know many people who will not post on Arbtalk for fear of being ridiculed. Each of them has experienced this and now won't contribute. This is a shame because their fear leads to our loss. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  8. Thanks for the info nifty. I had a RW but prefer the HH. Just a personal thing of course. I'm using the recommended knot as it feels best for me. I've been very happy using 8mm Armor Pruss but actually the best yet for feel and durability is 6mm Liros. I climb on Poison HiVee. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. I used these Toyotas when I worked in South Africa and they are cheaper than a Land Rover because they break down almost never and as the OP said they are quite literally "The last pick-up you will ever buy".
  10. To get the chipper working again pronto I would suggest calling Arbrep Services on 07967 263503. Charles works 24/7 when needed.
  11. What type of hitch cord and RW or HH? Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  12. You just beat me to exactly the same question. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  13. Do use a Rope Wrench or Hitch Hiker, or other? What hitch cord do you use with it? Thanks. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  14. I worked on the Plane trees in Lincolns Inn and at lunch time all the Lawyers came out the door of their building and threw my barriers out the way so they could use the usual footpath, that was now covered in branches. Idiotic of course but these lawyers work for a large firm that specialise in personal injury claims. I was gob smacked to say the least! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. Good man. I spend all my money on gear, Vodka and Rum. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. I just laughed out loud! Now my wife thinks I'm a idiot. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  17. Good question Chris and I battle with that one too. I'll let you know if I ever find the answer. 😄 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  18. I worked off a base tie today in a multi-stemmed Goat Willow. I passed the rope over three forks to spread my weight out and this enabled me to get my rope much higher than if I had a regular TIP. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  19. That can't be a serious question surely?! It'll cost £7.5K, break in 5 minutes and Stihl will say "operator error" then you'll have to drive 300 miles to get a spare part 'cos posting it isn't allowed. The spare part will cost a £1 million and last 10 seconds then..............
  20. Oh yeah. Also, Loads of bags of Postcrete Big stack of track mats and plywood boards.
  21. Chris' Hilux looks good and apparently he is really OCD so it should be in mint condition. If it was a single cab I'd have bought it already. Good luck.
  22. Hi Luke Do you know Nick Carre?
  23. There is another one at Henfield, very close to the A23. Sorry I can't remember the name of it but HGBMX on here knows it so maybe contact him.
  24. Definitely can and I've used mine for exactly that purpose. Other uses for me have been: Branches Logs New trees to be planted Old root plates Arb gear Two small children Fencing material Huge stacks of traffic cones Huge stack of traffic barriers Sure there have been more
  25. Adronetree, what did I say? Another axe thread........ Hahahaha! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
