  1. Definitely can and I've used mine for exactly that purpose. Other uses for me have been: Branches Logs New trees to be planted Old root plates Arb gear Two small children Fencing material Huge stacks of traffic cones Huge stack of traffic barriers Sure there have been more
  2. Adronetree, what did I say? Another axe thread........ Hahahaha! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  3. There's been a few threads on this already. I just asked the same question three weeks ago to get an update from those that use them. Got no replies on topic, so good luck. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  4. Thanks for postin this. I need a new head torch. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  5. Spot on pal. It's not worth degrading your time and effort quibbling with these people, especially if you've got plenty of work booked from people happy to pay for your service. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  6. Just happened an hour ago. I was up a twin stemmed Lawsons which both stems had twisted around each other, corkscrew style. I was cutting the growth out the top when suddenly the 'corkscrew' untwisted and I only had my lanyard on one stem! I thought I was heading down pronto but luckily I was also tied into the adjacent bigger tree. Scary though. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  7. Haha! I would have made the gardener shovel it up. After I whacked him with the shovel! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  8. I got to 1min 24 sec on the Vermeer video and think that you should not give up Arb work for acting careers. Having said that, I have a friend who's an actor (been in Eastenders for years) and he can't act any better than you two so maybe you've got a chance if you just put on spray tan and eyeliner!
  9. What he said.
  10. Misery: Every day that I was employed. Serendipity: Priced three days to dismantle a very tricky Oak. Got there and realised that if I removed two low branches we could winch it backwards into the clients woodland where he said we could leave it lying. Arrived at 8am, out at 1:30pm. Kerchiiing!!!
  11. I've just been approached by an 'Irish man' and son trying to sell me saws, hedge cutters, generators etc, brand new at very good prices. I didn't get the reg number of the pickup but it had a Truckman type back with tinted windows and on the crew cab doors had a sticker with Cobra something or other. This was in Horley, Surrey. 12. I wasn't talking about keeping customers happy. I was talking about maximising profit each week and the OP didn't ask for advice on how to manage his clients.
  13. On the contrary, you are now contradicting what you said on page 3.
  14. The type of work I do is slightly different now and the Mog isn't the right truck anymore. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. Contact Arbrep Services. They can help. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. We went to a Japanese restaurant last night and had cocktails. Feels like I had all of them. 👎🍻 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  17. Good for you mate. I'm not saying that you've done the wrong thing and I congratulate you for trying. Nobody ever one a race by staying in the starting blocks. If you're booked almost to Xmas, that's your first mistake. All those advanced bookings are dead money. You won't get paid until the jobs are done so maybe consider getting freelancers in to process more work per week. Then you'll be in a position to do more work as it comes in and if it doesn't and you find yourself without work, at least you'll have had a couple of bumper profit months. That's the risk of being self employed but if you've got that extra profit you can buy more gear or deal with repair bills. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  18. I'll believe it when I see it but I am worried as I only have a Transit since selling my Unimog. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  19. Mine was the same.
  20. If you've set yourself up with overheads ahead of a slow season, in a saturated market and at a time when the USA is declaring bankruptcy, I think you are brave or something else. Knowing what I now know about the Arb business, I wouldn't set up a new business. Sorry, I know that's not helpful.
  21. I meant what do you think of these ones? Buy Silicon Carbide 'Green' Grinding Wheels from Axminster, fast delivery for the UK
  22. INteresting. Well done and that's food for thought, for me.
  23. I guess they can in the same way as finger teeth but I don't know. Sure someone will be along soon to shed some light.
  24. Check this out! Genius! Easy Lift Harness thread. http://masterblasterhome.com/showpost.php?p=611771 Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
