  1. Erm, it does solve all helmet related problems. It doesn't break prematurely. The ventilation is better than any other helmet. The safety rating is better than any other helmet.
  2. From another recent thread, It appears that Kernmaster or Hedera are the two favourites that are available in UK.
  3. Nice one Essex. That's the best choice you could have made.
  4. Haha, come on Ian you know it makes sense!
  5. Just hang a Hi-vis vest off the back and all will be well, maybe. Hahaha. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  6. I must be the dumbest guy on here because I thought the OP was in Melbourne! Turns out he's here in Blighty but you all probably knew that already. Hahaha! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  7. That's funny. When I worked there it was the local South African guys that would fight not to have the Landy for the day. I must admit, the brand new LR was a real piece of junk and horrible to drive compared to the old Landcruisers. We never used them on tarmac either.
  8. I've had exactly the same dilemma so I started this thread: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=62924 then ordered more Airstreams last night. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  9. A single cab is exactly what I want and I always have since I worked with them in South Africa. Everyone wanted to drive the old Landcruisers, no one really wanted to drive the quite new L200's and the brand new Landrover was regarded as a joke. Trouble is, a new one is out of my budget and I couldn't risk buying a used one with out driving it first. I'm not going to Australia to do that! Tempting though it is.
  10. That's life in Britain mate. Customer is never right and we are supposed to feel grateful for handing over all our money. Sorry for my pessimism.
  11. This won't answer your question and may make you think I'm a prat but buying a Protos helmet will solve the problem. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  12. RopeKnight to the rescue today after my climber's Harrison Rocket got stuck on thin air next to branch.
  13. FYI I've found it very beneficial to change to SRTWP. At first you'll find that you overwork your arms but very soon you're technique improves and everything becomes easier. It's a much more physically efficient way to climb and as a few smart people have previously said, 'climb smarter not harder'. Most useful recent threads are 'SRT Q&A' and 'The Hitch Hiker Thread'. 'The Rope Wrench Thread' is excellent but very long. Join in on the SRT forum threads and all your questions will be answered. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  14. I think Treeworker sell it. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  15. I used this today and yesterday. So easy and quick. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  16. Thanks Lee:thumbup1: Annoyingly, if you click on any of the vehicles it goes to a different website so you can't view vehicle details.
  17. I'm an old git too, 39 when I started SRTWP, 41 now. I climbed on a Lockjack for over 8yrs and loved then bought a RW and then a Hitch Hiker as soon as I saw the photo. I felt that the HH would suit me 'feel' requirements better, and it has. I suggest you read the threads n the SRT forum to gather more info and the only advice I can offer you at this stage is that almost every RW user that tries the HH prefers the HH, not the other way round. I also predict that you'll prefer the HH after your years on an LJ. Cost is roughly the same.
  18. I've not been up many big trees recently so I've been hand throwing. I've got better at it so I am now awful instead of beyond awful. One thing is for sure though, I find it easier since adding the brass weight. Today I had a tall tree so I used the BigShot. Unexplainably, upon release the weight hit the BigShot head 7 consecutive times. Very frustrating and I've no idea why. The BS head, trigger and pulley are all in line correctly yet it kept going wrong. Anyway, it's a mystery so I'll drink beer tonight and try again tomorrow. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  19. Are you able to show us one or two examples of say, a higher mileage older truck compared to a lower mileage newer model? Show two with similar spec and prices just to give us a better idea. I'll be selling my wife's (stupid) Mini convertible in the spring and replacing it with pickup so I'm doing all my research now so that I can make the right decision. I'll be looking for a single or 'super cab'. If it is just a flat bed I'll get a Pro-Tipper fitted. Also if you know of costs to bring one into the UK that would be very useful. Thanks.
  20. Thanks for the stitching photos Gerbutt. Just what I needed to see.
  21. Thanks BenR. Is that Calamine rope? If so, how does it compare to Kermaster?
  22. And Penelope Cruz! Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  23. Or agree to do it for £500 less then send him an invoice for all your preliminary work. 8hrs @ £60 per hour. Perfect. 😂 Only joking, sort of. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  24. Can you post a photo if you get the chance. Sounds complicated but probably is not. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
  25. Oh how interesting. Thanks Marcus so the choice is made by colour preference and price. Fair enough. Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!
