  1. Model numbering is very sensible the cc size gives the model number I like
  2. Hydraulic Gear Pumps | White House Products | Hydraulic Pumps an excellent firm
  3. From my tree climbing days as a youth I "know" Syacamore to be a weak short grained timber, simply based on the way a Syacamore branch breaks compared to Ash or conifer. Or as it would locally be expressed "bruckle"
  4. Pigs and Politics, an apt comparison. PS I would be culling the Labour neer-do-wells. See balance and harmony is restored.
  5. Senior Managment finds they dont like "dawgs" specially not a couple of 45kg Bastard Mastiff /Staffie(with just a hint of Pit-bull) crosses, a good job they got such abortions of tails or they would easily reveal their essentially sweet nature. Though her has said that they instinctively bristle at the white van types.
  6. my my dribble and drool over a hand tool ( or 6) A wonderful link for my lottery winnings
  7. Based on my own wee 026 plus numerous FS200 and FS250 Stihl strimmers at work. run in and run on red Stihl oil punctiliously mixed at 1:50 none of them have ever missed a beat or even need a plug, that I am aware of. compared to generally negative exp with other brands and other oils. The other cheaper 2 stroke oils were definately not as good, though in fairness probably mixed too stiff before I:blushing: realized Council staff could be so dreagh.
  8. The story I was told was perhaps embellished a little, but was about SAS training (yawn) a mate joined 21 SAS (a TA unit?) and maintained that the regular SAS medical trained staff got experience well beyond their Civvy Equivalent pay grade ( as in our nurses are not even allowed to stitch a wound), that requires a Dr., Sir. Which would not exactly work on the battlefield. If you see what I mean.
  9. Agg21, I like your train of thought and logic, vis-a-vis the mxing of the old methods with the new technology. We just had a passenger overbridge/cyclepath installed at our local Victorian period railway Station, all curved stainless steel and LED lights. Some have berated it as not in keeping with the Victorian vernacular. I merely commented that by God iffen the Victorian engineers had of had stainless steel they would have used it wholesale, where appropriate. Ditto when I installed a solid wood floor over underfloor heating back in 1996. It was intended to stone slab this floor but back then the quotes were astronomic. So I asked a couple of joiners why I should not "Gripfill" the cheaper solid oak wooden floor down. No valid reasons being forthcoming I duly did. I me mysel that is. The floor has never given any trouble to date. PS Also been interested in this aerogel product, as it sounds very promising. Cheers Marcus
  10. Begorra! Dere onto uz. PS Cheap Chinese copies, I was shocked a decent known to me (but 85 year old) farmer locally bought one, he even attempted to get me to buy one too:lol:
  11. Why did they climb the tower when the fuse blew in the wee hoose on the ground:001_tt2: Per their introductory cartoon
  12. Santa has offered to bring me one, but I would not wish to see Santa "poked" M
  13. fat=tick drunk=tick granny @30 year old=tick, tick & tick clothes that appear to be too small=tick Hey!! You sure ha bin tae Glasgow there boy! Iffen I remember the Central Station of my youth on a Setterday nicght. PS I also met my private school educated astrophysist wife-to-be in Glasgie.
  14. I understand the 4*4 conversion is £20,000.00 odd, I was idly considering a 4*4 Iveco to replace a VW transporter until I was quoted £40,000.00 (ish) So 20 + 20 = 40. At £30,000.00 over 15 years I would have bitten. Since a LWB high roof Merc kitted out for a joiner is £27,500.00 I hasten to add on a 5.2t/5.5t chassis
  15. I was "reliabliably" told 30/35 or so year ago that combat medics from certain "ahem" specialized arms of the Service got combat medic training for real in the Glaswegian infirmery of a Saturday night. Dr. "x" will stitch you now Sir/ set that compound fracture etc, I presume under proper medical supervision. Sounded plausible to me back then.
  16. From the other side, it is possible there are noise issues pertaining, depending on the hours being worked. Cheers Marcus
  17. Proper scundered I will be if it takes my lovely thriving ash planted 5 or 6 year ago and just nicely established, I admire them every time I come in the lane. Fingers crossed. I understand from a newspaper article today that it is in imported stock on a National Trust site up on the coast. What would the NT be doing with imported trees though?. A quick fix for the new Causeway project perhaps?, pure guesswork:confused1: that is btw.
  18. The 5.2 tonne Iveco is a good truck, reasonable payload on a tipper plus still got 3050kg for a trailer/chipper. Some parts are shocking dear compared to Merc though. We appear to be standardising on Merc chassis at work, i.e. moving away from largely Iveco.
  19. I bough an Etesia Bahia, due to misuse and consequent damage it became unpopular, I liked it though if it was used for the type of grass it was designed to cut. We also run 355 John Deeres, with metre wide rear discharge/mulching decks. Small enough to be practical, as tough as old boots despite sounding like a bag of bottles. A fabulous finish from the two blade timing belt driven deck BUT the timing belts are the expensive weak link, very easily stripped and bloody expensive to replace. I however cannot find a more suitable mower for our particular requirments, so despite them being an obsolete model I intend to continue running until a replacment is found. I also bought probably one of the first FD1500 Grillo mowers in the Province, they have evolved considerably since then it appears.
  20. McElderrys here in Ballymoney had one here a few year ago, based on a Nissan Patrol if I recall, it was I think badged an AgriBuggy, set up for spraying or fert app I cant remember which. But it had a humgengeous great hydraulic PTO on it. I swithered about buying it for to access the moss to extract trees but this particular model had NO low box, therefore not suited for my intended use. It did appear to be well engineered though with an absolutely panaromic well glazed cab. Which indeed would also have been less than ideal among the trees. I even phoned Kane Bros, a Mr Kane answered the phone and was most friendly & informative, he knew the machine I referred to and gave me chapter & verse re the underlying spec. I warmed to the underlying ethos of Kane engineering, or the men behind the firm leastwise.
  21. Why do I drool over their free newsletter? Will I look hunky and Scandavian if I buy one? And more importantly will my "woodland" look as tidy? Do I need one? What else is out there? Rob?? Any offers?
  22. Sniff, it wouldnay allow me to edit (10 min rule discriminates again slow one fnger typists) Above entry was intended to read (ii) Tailgating Not (tailgating) PS Currently lying in bed attempting to hold net book and type with one finger while our latest recruit (Poppy Pieface) is sleeping across my chest with the "paw of ownership" comfortably dewclawed on my arm.
