  1. I've got a 10 year old timberwolf with nearly 2500 hours, 20 - 30 pumps on the grease gun every few weeks per roller and no problems yet.
  2. 20,21 & 22 - thats what i got in 95. Back then if you were going into forestry you done cs 10 & 11 and if you were going into arb you done 20 and 21, nowadays you do cs 30 & 31 for both trades. cs10 & 11 was up to guide bar length and 20 & 21 was 1.5 guide bar length. cs22 was using a chainsaw from a rope and harness in a tree, whats that now 38 or 39 i think.
  3. I dont mean to sound like a know it all but that looks like a Horse Chestnut ?

  6. Hi Mick, If its a weekend when i'm back down your way i'll have some of that for sure. I'll try to do it this month, if not next time. Rob.

    Wages??

I was earning the same 10 years ago as i'm earning now, everything else has gone up !
  9. Hi all, We've just finished a job felling approx. 100 mixed softwoods and hardwoods to allow the extension of a water treatment works and the stumps are going to be removed by a digger but the main contractor has asked us to arrange the disposal of said root balls. Any ideas of the best way to do this ? Maybe a tub grinder or something like it and if so anyone got any contact details. Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi, I had a ms260 doing the same and it turned out the ignition module.
  11. Ditto, if your bar and chain are ok they sell just the power head.
  12. And we thought we had a hard time over here with vosa etc etc ! I've done a few dismantles for friends around the thiviers area over the last few years while being on holiday, if this counts.
  13. Hi Jazz, Just listen to everything your told, if you have any questions (however stupid you think they are)just ask and you should be fine. Good luck with the course. Who and where are you doing it with ?
  14. Balding here but with 3 boys under 12
  15. Wow Jim, there cant be many of us still climbing with the old cs 20, 21 and 22 !
  16. When i lived in the London area i used to tip here sometimes and i can highly recommend the site. Hard standing area so no getting stuck and a fair price for tipping.
  17. I had a chippit 25 and a greenmech grinder with Kohler engines on them and they both backfired when you shut the revs down from new.
  18. Used most of them over the years, the firm i work for now has Greenmech and Jensen. The guys want to use the Jensen every time. Greenmechs with the disk chip systems produce large lumps of wood and dust, not wood chip - good at tracking though.
  19. Talking about the fallow rut, i've been working in a fallow enclosure all week , deadwooding oaks above a path that is going to be opened in the future. Approx. 180 fallow in there and the bucks have been calling all day, all week. Good to watch the bucks (at distance) holding the hinds at their little love pad !
  20. Works ok in Welsh as far as i can make out.
  21. I done it a couple of years back as the power company we were working for at the time asked for it. Its well worth doing. Good luck with it.
  22. I've got a Esse 125 (5kw) in a room about the same size of yours and its perfect, we open the doors to our kitchen/dining room and it warms them up a treat.
  23. Nice ! Only 1 more straight fell left then. Black hands for you for a few days ?
  24. Thanks Slack, How's things going ?
  25. I was at the AA conference and attended the very intresting talk by Mike Turner. I got the impression that he felt it is a serious problem that is getting worse as time goes on. One very interesting fact was that he commented that he found it less limbs above hard surfaces such as roads, is this a thing others have found ? Also up untill recently he had only found Massaria on small-ish limbs that once removed had little change to the overall crown profile but had found it on a limb that had a 750mm diameter which would seriously effect the crown profile.
