  1. i got a 1er on a fence in the summer!!!! also had a tree last year where I was tipped at the end of the job plus when Christmas came received a card from the same customer with another £20 in it
  2. Great job, great videos, thumbs up all round chaps
  3. my bad.. just saw I posted this in the wrong place ..
  4. evening all, was thinking of getting a sawbench to go beside my peeler, got a good amount of larch to go at.. saturated market or worth a shot?? any advice welcome
  5. yeah, its the petter 9hp model, with the small wheels as rollers, complete with spare blades and other bits, needs a little work but nothing major.. to be honest the engines worth next to jack now.. (£150ish) looks like a decent toy though, just thought It would be worth having incase.. engine price plus scrap seems a little low for whats there but I know where your coming from.., theres been a few on the ebay but the pages are that out of date they've removed them
  6. evening all, ive been offered one of the above, old one with powered infeed, own engine, ect.. not got any work for it at the min, but I would happily have it incase I ever require one.. searched the web but cant find a guide on value, anyone willing to take an educated guess??
  7. Yep I do, tree company I used to work for did also.. counts for around 20+ % of my work as a guess.. lots in the summer, also we remove a lot of hedges and replace with fencing.. not as keen on doing it as tree work but more knock-ons from neighbour's I find..
  8. should have expressed yourself through the medium of dance ... Me and my made had a full blown scrap / sword fight with some brash yesterday just to entertain the traffic on the road beside
  9. you can pm me you details if you want.. im in westacre
  10. As your working at the speed of ten men on price jobs im guessing you can retire at 30 and live of the interest lol
  11. im afraid you would be told to insert your job if I was expected jog from the chipper ... you will find if your picking up lads from the same area word will spread of your working mentality, and you will be left either paying top whack for good subbies.. or having a total numpty as that's all who will want to help you.. Happened to a scaffolding mate of mine, wanted more than was expected by other employers and now struggles to get anyone.. All their doing is selling their time to you, if you pay them well and they work well (not rushing) but consistent.. that's all you can really ask isn't it?
  12. basically not to fussed about the no fixed abode bit.. I looked into it all a while back and it seemed like a no go, other than just seeing if you can get away with it.. this has a lake so I thought I would have another look but im pretty sure there going to count the fact there is something on the site I would be staying in for longer than 28days a development requiring planning I have said it will continually move all the time just to try my luck wander if anyones tried a house suspended from a blimp yet lol
  13. anyone got any idea of how planning would work on this? been offered some woodland to get back in shape, in return use for yard, firewood production ect.. I have read and pretty much understand the permitted development side of things.. ie 28 days is fine whatever and with council / planning agreement a forestry worker can be there seasonally.. this as I understand is still a knightmare to get them to say ok.. question is in the wood there is a large pond.. if I float a boat around and stay in that .. not a houseboat as such but nearly there, with no mooring (as it requires planning) am I more likely to fit into a loophole?? just me throwing ideas around
  14. credit where its due chap, well done to your old man:thumbup1:... I run a transit with chipper and a transit cherry picker atm (4x4 pickup in the background for when needed) but have been struggling to find a better setup incorporating off road ability for both without massive costs.. building a similar thing (got me thinking now ) do you find it awkward having to be side on to the tree when working to obtain maximum height? im guessing a larger teleboom picker would be advantageous .. also a guess on weight would give the u140 a 1.5t payload for chip when built? brilliant idea, its clear there working for you.. buy him a pint on my behalf
  15. Cheers for the info chaps.. That mewp / chipper combination your running is interesting me.. I run a mewp most days.. could you give me a little more info or any pics of the arse end?? im guessing you've got a chip box there somewhere? looks the tits
  16. mate of mine got had by afew on his head the other day.... Reminds me of a film .. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A_C6okTm9c]Tucker & Dale. Vs Evil. | Funny Scene! - YouTube[/ame]
  17. i used to use my 4x4 and bags, then made a 4m3 cage for the tipper.. lasted two loads then went back to bags.. Knowone noticed the differance except me with the axe lol..
  18. cheers for the advice chaps... its interesting to hear different opinions.. today I looked at three jobs.. two of which I will need to hire a micro dumper of some sort, works out for a few hundred quid extra I might aswell buy one and have it in my arsenal (typed carefully to avoid misunderstanding ) as half in theory is being paid for by the customers. I think half my problem is the varying sized jobs we take on.. would be near impossible to have the right gear all the time.. without anything sitting around in the yard unused for period's of time anyway. obviously an old paid for machine doesn't cost during these period's.. think ill keep what ive got and ad to my collection as i can afford outright, for a while.. Ill revaluate the situation when and if a clearer line of similar work develops..
  19. if the top spring on your old set are good you could add that in, save buying another set ...
  20. hello to all, looks like theres gonna be a few pennys spare shortley and as im still looking to expand i wouldn't mind another piece of gear.. anyone bought anything that's proven to be great recently??? Last year i bought this and its paid for itself in no time
  21. oh right, my bad.. might aswell get one of those bnq saws and save yourself some sponders then lol
  22. Hi chap, I see your pretty close to me.. local estate does seasoned hardwood for £75 a m3 inc delivery (I think prices between me and you are within a fiver from the larger estates) I charge 75 for a dumpy bag of seasoned hardwood to my customers (about .7 of a meter) From memory my old pickup loaded like that would be about a bag and 3 quarters.. north pickenham estate were doing softwood at £65 a meter last year I believe.. be better taking the softwood out and selling separate imo.. 75 for a dumpy of hardwood and 65 for soft hope it helps
  23. Ive had a 362xp with a 13" bar for the last two years,I use it for snedding and general groundwork, I also carry an 18" bar & chain in the truck for when needed.. Cant fault it and I would buy the same setup again 2moro if needed without hesitation, nice and light with the 13 fitted and plenty of go.. cant comment on a 560 as ive never had one..
  24. cheers for the replies so far, as it stands its being sold as "can be registered as either hgv or ag" its been council owned until now (so im guessing hgv atm) but for some reason its first registered in 2007 although its manufacture date is 1996.. am I correct in saying even as ag registered it can only tow its designed tow weight while on the highway? this is mainly whats stopping me, I have spoken to Atkinson Vos about weights but they contacted me and said "sorry we don't seem to have that info" ive also trailed the interweb but found nowt With regards to the fittings needed to be ready for use I wasn't hugely concerned as I was going to make this up myself.. If got i would be looking at it lasting me for 5 years.. hopefully... that and ive been told my manlyhood will increase both in length and girth by having it.. that's what ive told my girlfriend anyway
  25. that's the one chap.. nice things but info on them's a little vague
