  1. Evening all, just a heads up for those In my area, i was delighted to find my shed doors at the yard swinging this morning after having the lock cut off while I don't keep any saws etc there they did get off with a decent selection of mechanic tool sets (full box & 3 socket sets) as I was working on the loader this weekend typically. Strangely left the tirfor - genny and a kango though?? Even nicked an extension lead!! However im pretty sure I saw the van casing the yard (and my house) 2mins away yesterday afternoon. White tranny connect (small one) with black alloys and a chrome bull bar (reg PE33) Keep an eye on your gear..
  2. Would have been nicer if they changed it in 2000 though 😜
  3. No because I was taught how to cut a tree down in my cs training, I feel very much that my 65 year old mother who can't park a hatchback in Tesco probably wouldn't have been as myself safe dragging my chipper across the country last Sunday even though she would be legal, I know I need to get it done but I do begrudge it somewhat.
  4. Was quoted £350 - £500 a year or so back from memory
  5. Literally the most piss off thing I've had to think about wasting the best part of half a grand on in my life, still need to get it done but it disgusts me
  6. Cheers Tim, tackling a 6ft sycamore next week !!
  7. I could do with picking up some spare finger teeth / pockets if anyone has some unwanted ones after updating their cutting wheel? Don't do enough grinding to justify it myself but let all my spares go with my last machine thinking I wouldn't get another !!
  8. Not exactly what I was after however far to good to turn down with 600hrs on the clock!!
  9. Cheers for the replies chaps, I've just returned from collecting my new beast
  10. Couple of pm's sent but keep any offers coming
  11. I built a toolbox on a tranny tipper body once Stupid idea, petrol / chain oil goes everywhere, end up trying to secure things in the tool locker with bungees until you admit you made a bellend out of yourself and cut it up..
  12. IMO if your not going to have to carry it around too far by hand consider getting a large one even if its second hand, I've got an old tu35 3500kg tirfor, yes it's a ball ache carrying it around but whatever the job it gets it done I was lucky enough to be given mine by a friend but have seen them sell on eBay for little over £100 It's been given some real stick and after living with it a few years there's been many-many times I've praised it for getting me out of a muddle that a smaller winch couldn't and that I wouldn't have considered or planned for should I have been looking to buy one.
  13. Evening all, I've been looking for an old grinder for some time as I have a few jobs on for one but it's been a few months and eBay doesn't seem to be chucking much up.. As always my desire to never leave the workshop is taking hold and was hoping to find something self drive with a powered head (252 sort of thing) Not worried what's broken so If you've anything around the yard that your happy to part with let me know either on here or pm, happy to travel 🙂
  14. I bought the same lever and had to re-grind the hook to grip on smaller timber, grips well now though. As already suggested pull the lever up as the pic suggests the guy is pushing it down for some reason..
  15. Cheers Adrian I'll give you a call later!!
  16. Not as yet no ☹️ Work seems to have gone crazy of late!! She is home, fully freed up and all setup though, just needing a band really, had 27miles of a rather hairy 7mph journey but made it back to its new home ok
  17. Well I'll retract that and suggest a 12v 500kg swing lift from eBay 😜I bought two (under £200 each) and found them great for bags 😀
  18. Assuming you mean the 12v winch ones with manual swing that is..
  19. Second that ... just done my 100th bag with mine, works a treat
  20. We have two close board fences going up next week and need another person to help, be ideal if you've done some fencing previous, starts 24th oct, no tools needed just hands, nice enough work in quiet village outside kings Lynn pm if your free. Many thanks, Adam.
  21. I've got one, not sure if you still want info as it's an old thread but shout if you do and I'll give you the low down 🙂
  22. If times are hard I unplug it with the ram out to collect a few gallon for when I get home 😃
  23. I have a horizontal 2/4 way splitter that will take a 2.8m length, will happily take 30" rounds (possibly larger depending on how straight and what wood type) I use this running from a loader and have a separate mini loader to load and stack timber. Apart from the loader powering it I can trailer the splitter & mini loader While i couldn't do it in the near future I could sort time in spring.. I am looking at a small machine for powering the splitter which would trailer also and be all sorted within a few months. If you can't find anyone feel free to pm me and we can keep in touch Many thanks Adam.
  24. Have you got loading gear? And a tractor / hydraulic power source?
