  2. Agricultural vehicles on the Road – Mike Braithwaite ... when i bought my copy after a talk it was only £15 about 2 years ago it covers every thing from drivers licence ,lights ,markers.drivers hours including tacos non agricultural use, waste regs etc. if you can get a copy of this bible this man was a retired trafic police man who helped to train vosa officers and gave many lectures for local farming groups. he was the top man in his field, who was at the end of the phone to help with any problems. if he didnt know the answer he would find out and call you back unfortunatly he died at christmas time.
  3. i went through this with our local training group and was told the folowing, The Lantra course will only cover the trainee for felling trees up to a maximum diameter of 200mm and only on their own or employer’s land. I have checked the maximum diameter for cross-cutting and it is 380mm as long as the tree is on the ground and not hung up. There is no possibility of progression with the Lantra course and trainees cannot move from this course on to felling medium trees. The NPTC course and assessment (CS30/31) will enable the trainee to fell trees to a maximum diameter of 380mm and undertake contract work. Once CS30 & CS31 have been passed it is possible for the trainee to move on to CS32 – medium trees (380 – 760mm diameter) and other associated courses. hope this helps
  4. hi hows it going

i see chippers still advertised any chance of posting the manual

  5. screw splitter on mini digger slow my next idea for splitting rings is to make a splitter pin for my hydralic breaker on the mini digger.
  6. may not be securing but a freind had his steel shed in the back of his yard broken into so made his own alarm by fitting a switch with a deley . on the door and attached it to a bird scarer . a week later it went off in the night he found the shed open nothing missing

  11. no ts a cone fitted on hydro post bora that came with digger
  12. i lke the idea maybe your 6 tonner will have more hydralic power if buying a made one try before you buy.
  13. reputation a good reputation crawls in but can run out
  14. thankyou for your veiws . ive been using it for 3 months without a problem. The digger tooth helps keep log on splitter . however i only made it as last year i suffered a back problem whilst lifting a log on my old spliter which was a horizontal hydo ram mounted on a rsj pushing against a blade about 8 inchs from ground. so by solving one hse issue i have created another. as im the only opperator and self employed i wonder if regs applies
  15. it works the same way asa normal log splitter and u control the speed the same so if you have a bit that starts to move i lift the blade up and hold it with the bottom of blade.
  16. my log spliters first my 14.5 360 digger atachment made from bushes from log grab bought from e bay. old moledrainer leg and spare digger tooth with 3 hours in workshop. The digger has a knuckel boom and dozer blade which i pull logs against. The cone on the 1.5 tonner is a new purchase from states <big mistake > as told would fit my post hole bora when arrived to small so had to make new bush coller to fit. ok on most smaller stuff but a knotey bit will stall hydr motor and wont unscrew so have to cut out with saw. Good for moving logs though. but definatly needs a bigger machine to power. The log grab bought from e bay £750 good bit of kit cut off old brackets and welded jcb fork brackets on saves us bending muck fork or pallet tines:thumbup: Trailer with hiab next project to convert to timber trailer.
  17. just put one on 1.5 tonner but on a knotty lump ot enough hydro power sometimes will not even un screw:thumbdown:
  18. i just fitted one to my 1.5 tonne mini digger post hole bora and when on knotty bits it stalls the motor. have had fairly good result on my 14.5 tonner with a old mole drainer leg pulling log against bulldozer blade.
  19. when i click on listings kindling supplyer im shown but when on firewood im not
  20. just a thought how about calling it firewood arb directory or adds directory . whould this would put it higher up search engines
