  1. Having great difficulty with this leaf id. The tree was around 25 or 30 ft. e
  2. Stein trolley is no use if you have to cross a small river
  3. Well I was working away carrying as much conifer I could handle and it lead me to think about how much equipment I've carried in the past across fields and fields. There's been times where there has been a 20ft ladder on my shoulders and pole saw, harness with 020t attached and 37mt rope on my back. Anyone else come across this regularly? No iron man posts
  4. What a great read just recently caught the fungi hunting bug and always found them whenever I wasn't looking for them. Very knowledgable arborist Tony
  5. I'm physically at my best at the minute but I'm still learning more, doing more. Getting stronger, more determined, so in a nutshell I'm still going uphill as far as I'm concerned (I'm 24 btw)
  6. Not my field of expertise maybe others can tell you on here but it's all rated gear so I think it would do ok but then again I'm not a LOLer guy Come to think of it Marlow wouldn't even be required, normal bridge would do if preferred.
  7. Just an idea but replace the 2 D rings at either side of your bridge with rings (the same ones that the Petzl Sequoia have) and run your 8mm Marlow on them with double fishermans at either end.
  8. Good way of thinking dude confidence is key in the canopy at times lol Excuse for a new DMM Axis Swivel :-)
  9. Some wear on my Camp swivel. Still think its safe enough to climb with? Forgot to mention the wear is around the bottom loop :-)
  10. I personally compare the total cart cost and go from there, as long as the product price is good and sensible and the P+P nicely priced, efficient service etc t'would be hard to go wrong in my books
  11. A wee quick start tutorial on something small would be ace
  12. I do not pay a mortgage, after abit of thinking about what I had posted. I've came to the conclusion that given I do not have the variables a bigger business may require, and tailored to my requirements, the £70 suited me down to the ground but I will admit that in future, I will reassess my pricing structure reflecting how I value my time etc
  13. No Warren not climbing solo. Want to be able to spend the money:-)
  14. it literally is cut and leave. fuel needed only and job only 3miles up the road and only paying myself
  15. Ok maybe i used the wrong words. Its just cut and leave. Only fuel to pay for. £30 p/h i thought was decent enough profit?!
  16. Hey all. I was around pricing a job for a customer this evening. The job involved removing hanging branches and deadwood removal and just abit of tidying up. Its around 45ft tall, the work can be done in around 2hrs and I priced it at 70. I got the job but cant help feel that I overpriced it?
  17. Only tree I could ID it with is Leburnam,
  18. Wtf is that a two manchainsaw.
  19. Just after reading all 19 pages... What a really interesting thread!!
  20. The usual story, I have been made temp redundant with very little prospect of permanent work for the rest of the year. I started out in this industry two years ago and finally felt at home in a job i thoroughly enjoyed! Problem is as with everyone bills need to be paid. Ive been offered a factory job producing aeroplane fusilage to some decription (wages are fairley decent). Do I hold pnto the job i love so dearly or become a brainless robot in the aviation industry!??
  21. Very nice work! but there's a typo at the bottom of the website on "Garaunteed"
  22. AlvinD

    I Passed!!!

Well done dude! Im interested in pursuing the ISA exam. How did you go about it?
  23. This thread is for guessing trees but with a different angle. :-) First perhaps in a small series
  24. Hey all How or what way do you guys go about producing your own method statements? Do you refer to the BS way of doing things and reproduce a draft from it? Interested in hearing your thought!...
