I've started to use the MOT history page for vehicle research. Spot a car model you're thinking of buying then note the number plate and look it up. My neighbours had an Amazon they swore by it. The MOT checker website showed it was costing a fortune every MOT. We love our cars so much we're not always honest.

Aluminium wiring is the pits for broadband. Surprising how much there's about.

True Jon the modems in the routers are important. It's possible to collect line stats from most routers and you could then compare them on your different lines.

It's all about the wiring into the home. If it's been cut and rejoined (how many times has that accident been discussed here) then the line noise will be higher and their speed will drop.
