  1. Your lounge must be huge! I run a 9kw Woodwarm in a 4m x 8m room and it's too hot sometimes.
  2. Think that stihl super synth chain oil was doing the same on my saw. I'm now be back on the Oregon.
  3. It's definitely not poor. There's much to dispute in the link you posted.
  4. Thanks folks. Checking them all out.
  5. Where's you goto online shop? My local place has erratic hours and I seem to roll up when closed. Never answering phone means it's a gamble. All I'm after is a sprocket, e-clip, fuel filter and spark plug for a 372xp somewhere that doesn't want to charge £20 to post to Scotland. Dave
  6. You live and learn. I've twenty different trees in the garden and I thought they were all hornbeams.
  7. For three years I've competed against a local social enterprise for log sales. They manage a small woodland bought for a £1 off the Health Board. They've received £100,000 from the lottery over the last three years. They've four staff and volunteers. Their funding has just run out and walking down the high street i got hassled by a guy because my business has taken income from them?! I was swift in my reply that if you can't run a business with a £100,000 subsidy then maybe it's not a real business. Ffs
  8. I run a 4000.
  9. Was aware but hoped my servicing regime would keep it at bay. Would rather change bearings than go for second hand box.
  10. Trafic seems to be programmed to have a Breakdown every 12 months. Rumble in the gearbox, which has had oil changes at the dealership on time, is the bearings. Van at specialist in Glasgow who can do it without removing the box for £500 but he's busy and it's off the road for a week. Real pest. Dave
  11. And they'll be looking for a big wad of employer's contributions to their pension. And by 'they' I mean the government!

  13. Which taxes are you talking about? VAT, if you're registered, is charged on the £600 to the customer and then passed on by you to HMRC after you make your return. Are you a sole trade/partnership/Ltd company etc? It all varies slightly. You really need an accountant to get you on the right track.
  14. It's definitely a money maker but relies on subsidy.
  15. Folk are getting paid to produce the heat via the RHI. Bonkers.
  16. When fuel needs refilling, oil should as well.
  17. You'll get some ideas from woodlands.co.uk
  18. Flux capacitor?
  19. Expert had told me I'd sharpened the chain with too much hook causing chain to bite too much and clutch to slip. I've just finished reprofiling cutters. We'll see.
  20. FC wouldn't come out to my woods to discuss my application. They said they used Google Earth. I'm less than a mile from their office.
  21. Many thanks. Been at it in the workshop and it looks like oil has got into clutch area. With saw assembled and running oil comes out of top of chain Brake/clutch cover. It looks like it then spread back over clutch. Bar oiling hole clear and plate clean and straight. All I can think is it's the small black rubber seal (red arrow) that's allowing oil back and past to yellow arrow area. Chain looks like it's lacked oil and certainly looks oil contaminated on brake area. Am using Stihl chain oil which is lighter and thinner than three husky stuff I used to use.
  22. I was thinking along those lines. He'll have those in stock. The saw's earning again Thursday. I don't do enough to justify running 2 saws for times like this.
  23. Saw just off the boil yesterday. Changed fuel, no help. Just not holding revs as high as it did and a bit of burble to it. My local guy has a back log so any tips to check first?
