  1. If it's a back lane IE car every 20 mins park your truck one side a tractor the other cut grab tip it over the hedge. Local tree officer told me apply the common sense rule.
  2. Some of the best days of my working life were spent with the guys that did the above. Didn't do me no harm!!!!! Times change IMO for the worse
  3. Yep he's had a few of them as well herefordshire is fast becoming the grow capital of the uk.
  4. Tied to the bull bar of Toyota hilux and driven up the a49 for 25 miles soon sobered me up but did not teach me. Strop put round my ankles left at 25ft for 30 mins. Bundled in a picker left up 100ft in the pissing rain for two hours for putting a an m20 bolt through the crane drivers window I had warned him about his chains on my basket.
  5. Mate of mine has 60 houses and at any one time he has 10 houses causing problems ie not paying . He is a pawn broker by trade so use to getting his hands dirty. He takes it to court quickest he has had some one evicted is 16 weeks. It's not all it's cracked up to be
  6. Looks like 1.2 at least
  7. One incident that sticks in my memory for me was being asked to show a gang of polish lads how to bank a crane. They were working with a tower putting lattice steel work over us putting in beams. That was at 8am was driving out the gate with two other erectors by 830 the firm was the biggest steel construction firm in the uk
  8. A freind of ours did 14 runs last year marothons and half marathons plus the tough mudder she said all though she really injoyed it, it was the hardest one.
  9. when I worked in steel construction if there was somthing a little bit iffy to do it was done on a Sunday morning nice and early. Usually involved getting to a point a cherry picker could not get to and climbing beyond it It was usually the HS guy telling us to do it aswell said it all really.
  10. They could make it a bit more interesting for passing motorists by doing hand stands. I don't think there in any more danger it's just as there been employed to do a job they have to wrapped in cotton wool. It should be left up to the person to work as they see fit as long as it does not Put others in blatant danger. Method statements risk assessments are a load of bollocks when you arrive on site quick chat about any issues and crack on. Common sense approach
  11. Make them put crash helmets on
  12. Is it a lot slower cutting though I've never used one so am clueless
  13. Only ever once Jon I was in the same position as Rod had a 660 but thought I needed an 880. Yes it's a beast of a saw but what a cumbersome beast it is all day cutting big 3ft plus stuff knowing that your going to spend the next week through a splitter. Not for me
  14. Have you used an 880 all day?
  15. Why do you want to give up firewood If I remember right you have a harvesting operating so thought it would be a good earner for you.?
  16. I no what our customers would say and it would not be polite
  17. We do sell soft wood but I've not pushed it got a load of scots pine and a load of larch that had been down ages the larch is good but the scots pine not so good.
  18. Could do with some of that white stuff down here it's gone real slack this week
  19. No on a bank poor footing easier to do standard felling cuts plus didn't look like there was any tension on way or other.
  20. Maybe I should of viewed it on the PC before giving my verdict rather than I phone. I did think lime to begin with
  21. It's a bit different if it's a full time thing. He is just doing it part time to see if it's for him.
  22. To be honest if you have a 461 I would make do wit that and see how the next season pans out. The only way you will speed it up is a processor more coin. I've got white finger pretty bad from riding motor bikes in all weather and using big impact wrenches all day for a decade and I don't notice any difference in the vibes using the 660 over a 461/ 362 /261
  23. Get a 660 I would go for an older one with the screw caps if you can find one I got a brand new 2009 model in early 2013. I'm in the yard now cutting up over size. We run outs on a 30 and tackle pretty much anything. 880 is a bit over kill for firewood IMO big old lump to be wielding it will make your arm ache.
  24. Email not working but here's my number 07964947272 Mike
  25. The good old chaff get it on the tops of my legs after giving the KTM a bit of a workout. Not sure about the name mrs might start to worry about it.
