  1. Where are you based as it seems to vary from county to county what size is it Oak and beech are very dense woods s you will end up with less volume If I was buying pure oak I would not want to pay more than '£47.50 in the yard
  2. Bingo thanks wood wizard
  3. Riko sorry can't do links
  4. Mums got the Panasonic one and to be fair it does make a good shape loaf and very tasty. They don't last long as other have said I'm guessing this is because they have no preservatives in them .

  6. Riko Expert is the machine I would choose for your application
  7. Believe me Hodge some of the lads that I've hired in that think there it **** and a bit would of not lasted the journey there let alone a day.
  8. No nots agree to disagree and leave it at that.
  9. The point I was trying to make was if the local tree officer has the sense to say get it done. What's the big deal!!!!!!!?
  10. Big diffrance between bullying and Tom foolery. The guys I worked with then would of done anything for one another.
  11. If I thought dropping a bow out of a tree was going to go wrong I'd pack up and stack shelfs if your blocking the road who's going to get hurt. Main road busy back road yes but a bloody back lane :001_smile:
  12. So he is not allowed an opion .
  13. Don't get a 661 unproven 660 has stood the test of time bar is interchangeable with your 462 if you do put a 20 /25 on it all make you smile. Your going to be spending the thick end of a £1000 on it you want to know it's going to be right. If I was going to pick one hole in a 660 it would be the oil pump could do with throwing out a little bit more volume when turned up if cutting really dry wood. Tell the mrs rings don't make money
  14. If it's a back lane IE car every 20 mins park your truck one side a tractor the other cut grab tip it over the hedge. Local tree officer told me apply the common sense rule.
  15. Some of the best days of my working life were spent with the guys that did the above. Didn't do me no harm!!!!! Times change IMO for the worse
  16. Yep he's had a few of them as well herefordshire is fast becoming the grow capital of the uk.
  17. Tied to the bull bar of Toyota hilux and driven up the a49 for 25 miles soon sobered me up but did not teach me. Strop put round my ankles left at 25ft for 30 mins. Bundled in a picker left up 100ft in the pissing rain for two hours for putting a an m20 bolt through the crane drivers window I had warned him about his chains on my basket.
  18. Mate of mine has 60 houses and at any one time he has 10 houses causing problems ie not paying . He is a pawn broker by trade so use to getting his hands dirty. He takes it to court quickest he has had some one evicted is 16 weeks. It's not all it's cracked up to be
  19. Looks like 1.2 at least
  20. One incident that sticks in my memory for me was being asked to show a gang of polish lads how to bank a crane. They were working with a tower putting lattice steel work over us putting in beams. That was at 8am was driving out the gate with two other erectors by 830 the firm was the biggest steel construction firm in the uk
  21. A freind of ours did 14 runs last year marothons and half marathons plus the tough mudder she said all though she really injoyed it, it was the hardest one.
  22. when I worked in steel construction if there was somthing a little bit iffy to do it was done on a Sunday morning nice and early. Usually involved getting to a point a cherry picker could not get to and climbing beyond it It was usually the HS guy telling us to do it aswell said it all really.
  23. They could make it a bit more interesting for passing motorists by doing hand stands. I don't think there in any more danger it's just as there been employed to do a job they have to wrapped in cotton wool. It should be left up to the person to work as they see fit as long as it does not Put others in blatant danger. Method statements risk assessments are a load of bollocks when you arrive on site quick chat about any issues and crack on. Common sense approach
  24. Make them put crash helmets on
  25. Is it a lot slower cutting though I've never used one so am clueless
