  1. Nearly missed out as my name was removed by mistake which I only discovered last night. Lucky to get it sorted.
  2. List of participants on "carve carrbridge" website or facebook page. All the usual carvers there plus few new comers, 26 I think. Cairn Bar friday night and ceilidh saturday night. See you there.
  3. been wanting to carve something like this for a while.
  4. Also interested to know how and when spalting occurs.
  5. I'm experimenting with "work-mates" for smaller pieces, means a sacrificial base though but is a good height and holds fairly securely.
  6. Glad to hear it. Hoping this one will last. Have not had chance to use new T536 yet but 2nd one still going strong and used most days; had it 2 months now.
  7. 5 + weeks and saw finally replaced. Lets hope this one is "FIT FOR PURPOSE"
  8. can the cockerel avoid the inevitable?
  9. Now 30 days since saw failed, apparently needs new motor. Do Husqvarna not have 1? Is this acceptable or more "couldn't give a damm" attitude from Husqvarna. Wouldn't like to have been relying on it as main top handle. Really p----d of with this situation.
  10. 3 weeks now and not a word from supplier or Husqvarna as to what the problem and its resolve is. Crap service, just take your money and run.
  11. I've now waited 3 weeks to have my replacement t536 repaired and have heard nothing back from supplier. Cannot recommend these saws at present.
  12. The saw in question has only been used for branch removal, and the day it failed, had cut nothing larger than 5" dia. Is very nice to use, quiet and slim with good cutting speed and I enjoyed using it.
  13. Will do if I ever find out. Husqvarna have still not let us know what the problem with our 1st 536 was.
  14. I wish I knew what was causing the saw not to run, guess its the key pad as no lights come on. Really disappointed as was really enjoying using the saw regularly. There certainly are problems with chain tension and saw dust collecting round clutch. Does not take much to stop chain turning. Has taken over 1 week to collect saw. Not impressed with service at all.
  15. Not green yet but a lot cheaper to maintain. Looking forward to pics.
  16. My replacement t536 has now failed. Back to supplier again. More wasted time and frustration. Wonder how long it will take this time. Also wonder who actually tests these pieces of equipment. Starting to think they are not fit for purpose.
  17. I wish I could have carved it green but clients took a long time to decide.
  18. today I used Husky 576, 560, 346 with 16" quarter tip and 339 with 12" dime tip. Had to sharpen them all during the carve which was extremely hard. We had felled the tree 2 years ago, would have been better to carve it then.
  19. arms weary after this 5 hour hard stump carve.
  20. they are good. would like to carve a pheasant sometime.
