  1. Sideways rain and gusty here, another lovely day in the Lakes :-)
  2. I'd try and find an experienced climber to go for a climb with you. To climb with someone who is confident and relaxed will put you at ease and give you that bit of confidence you need.
  3. Merry Xmas and a prosperous new year to all!
  4. Took mine to see a band with beers and £50.
  5. Cheers apbell, the kids loved it.
  6. I've got a camera on mine and it's excellent. Turns reversing into a computer game, great for twisty drives/ lanes.
  7. I did Yts and it was a great way in. I doubt whether I'd have got a start without it.
  8. Apart from the money ,tips from race horse trainers (winners) various meals, bottles of various booze, but the best was VIP tickets to the Moto gp.
  9. RIP Marco. Very sad news indeed.
  10. I've got one on my transit and it's great being able to reverse the chipper up twisty lanes. Takes a couple of weeks to get used to but I wouldn't be without one on a truck now. I've got a guardian camera which can support 3 cameras so you could have one pointing directly at the towball if you wanted.
  11. Just bought one to replace my unreliable disco, I'm going to get some snow Tyres for winter and see how it does on the White stuff. Heard from a friend it is great in the snow ( he drove his round the alps when he went snowboarding with no probs)
  12. Husky for me, 5 years on and still going strong
  13. I got a pair a couple of weeks ago and their great in warm weather, and I prefer them to my hi-flex for climbing. Being a short arse the leg length is great to. I may cut off the flap for holding the t spanner as it's slightly annoying. Otherwise great trousers.
  14. Did mine around 7 times over 5 years, and only when I properly rested and excercised it did it stop popping out. The tendons take a long time to contract and become taut again so my advice would be rest it well. Hasn't come out for 10 years now touch wood. Good luck with it.
  15. Thanks for the advice.
  16. Thanks for the reply. What size reductions would you recommend and over what time span?
  17. The house is far enough away, however there is a workshop close by so there will be people walking around. My first thought was to fell but as the client wants to keep it I'm considering a severe 50% reduction. Any thoughts?
  18. Just wondering what advice people would have for this Beech I looked at today. At the cavity (pictured) I'd say the main stem is approx 70% hollow accross and hollow from cavity to below ground level . No signs of fungi. The owner would like to retain the tree. Thanks.
  19. Seen some good and some not so good over the years as with the male climbers. There were 5000 lumberjills in WW2.
  20. Yeah good. How's you?

Still keeping up with the old arb stuff I see :-)
