  1. Monkeypox to get a new name, says WHO WWW.BBC.CO.UK There is an urgent need for a non-discriminatory and non-stigmatising name, scientists agree. Anyone want to play a game of name that virus? What about Poxy McPoxface? Apeshit Pox? Covidpox?
  2. I wonder what it's like in other parts of the country? Last year was a bad one for the apples especially, think we had a bad late frost. I'm sure we had snow in April/May? This year is looking like it is going to be a bumper fruit harvest; apples/plums/currants/berries all looking good. Some of the trees were only planted last year, and the year before, so this is the first time fruiting for some. Sorry all the photos look much and such the same, they are different trees and varieties though!
  3. First courgette of the year on it's way!!
  4. I don't know what newspaper they read, but some office workers from down south do plant trees. It's more than voluntary they even pay for the privilege of doing it! Trees for life etc. Don't think they get many trees in the ground in a day though, and it means they can feel less guilty about getting on a plane.
  5. Just to clear up any confusion: (me, I'm with the tree planter, he's got all the chicks )

    Overloaded

It took me a second to realise it's not a twin axle!!
  7. Yes that's what I've got sort of but it's not really needed. It has 2 forward positions, one is normal, one is high speed with the recycling. And the reverse clicks in and holds if you want it to.
  8. Can't really see it in the photo, 1m wide oak, which isn't really that common to see round here for firewood. Full of nails, and will be burnt in the house about 50yds away from where the tree once grew
  9. I don't like aubergine, but there's some nice looking courgettes and squashes in there

    Jokes???

This makes megabus seem quite tame
  11. Pretty poor show for Wales to knock out Ukraine, you're supposed to have pity on them and let them win 3-1, the poor buggers are at war don't you know.
  12. Just wondering, why do you use the Clark oil in the summer? Rapeseed has gone up in price, 20l drum was £30 something a few weeks back
  13. I don't have any central heating currently so it's all going to have to be put in, pipes radiators tanks new fireplace etc etc 💰 Hoping to see if it's feasible to have a solar thermal panel to help with the hot water
  14. Well a chance gumtree advert sees me now as the owner of this pile of bits, apparently a 12kw clearview (with backboiler), it's nearly as old as me. £400 for the lot so not a huge bargain really, I bet it cost about that when it was brand new!
  15. Does anyone know if there's any companies left selling stoves with back boilers, to run a few radiators and hot water? Is it possible to bypass the regs if you declare it's not for use in a house or simillar?
  16. In 10 years time we will probably look back and say "wow wasn't fuel cheap in 2022" It can't be that expensive going by the vast numbers of people who are driving up from down south in campervans/sportscars, just to race round the NC500 in 2 or 3 days, barely stopping to take in the view, then drive all the way home again

    Jokes???

There's a guy I know, was loading his quad onto the trailer, gave it too much gas and went through the back window of the car!
  19. Just watch, the sap has the potential to burn your skin. Think it doesn't affect everyone but you can become sensitive to it. I have used a strimmer since the age of 17, it never used to bother me, but it does now. Long sleeves, buttoned right up to the neck, gloves, and full face polycarb visor, even if you can't see any hogweed type plants it can often be lurking in the grass.
  20. I know a landowner like that, denies owning land if there's a bill to be paid, but will claim anything if he thinks it's worth something
  21. I've used the mushroom plug patch things before, permanent repair (hopefully), you've got to take the tyre off the rim though. I would buy a magnetic sweeper first.
  22. Saw this, it's almost like a scale model, tweeny drum chipper: Awwww innit cute
  23. Flip-up tool-less angle grinder nut. Simple but handy. https://www.toolstop.co.uk/milwaukee-4932352473-fixtec-quick-lock-release-angle-grinder-nut-m14-thread/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4PKTBhD8ARIsAHChzRLDDnwmxN1YL1qIq2hu5v-dTP_FQIAdElug6QxnvJ-YM8xfIA1L2JQaArHEEALw_wcB
  24. Have a look at nugent trailers, they won't be any cheaper, but they're certainly well made. You'll still be waiting months though unless a dealer has one in stock
