  1. in the process its going to be using the same chassis as the stump grinder we built last week
  2. we have our own grinder and we would be looking for £250 - 300 you have to allow for picking up and dropping off said grinder at hire shop
  3. there are valves made to stop engines overspeeding that are made by a company called chalwyn equipment in poole dorset we used to fit them onto our demolition excavators for when they were working in oil refineries if they pick up flammable gas it causes the revs to rise and shuts the engine off. some of the old detroit 2 strokes had them fitted as standard as the blower seals would fail with catastrophic results:laugh1:
  4. the damn thing has now cured itself i had it running today i think a bit of fresh petrol and vibration from the grinder has loosened any thing that was in the carb so now it runs ok all that of course happened after i ordered carb off ebay:mad1:
  5. it is possible for a diesel to run on its own oil when it goes belly up as the oil can transfer into the intake via the breather pipework but they aren't an easy thing to stop usually they go bang as rpm is controlled by fuel so free fuel = loads of revs
  6. wouldnt touch it detroit 2 stroke maintenance nightmare
  7. honda power barrow that was done into a drill rig for geothermal we bought it for £400 so far the whole project has cost us about £440 plus my time to build it

  12. wasnt sure if its a governor problem maybe to much standby load from the hyd pump gonna disconnect it to try
  13. its pretty well balanced when you take the grinder off it wants to tip backwards this will get sorted when we make up a timber rack for it
  14. can anybody give me the basic carb settings for a gx390 ours plays up i have cleaned the crap out of the carb and it still hunts up and down it only runs clean when the choke is half on at any rpm any pointers

  20. picked it up in newcastle 6pm last night up the road to denny at 9 had it up and down the street at 9.15 almost hit wifes car at 9.18 stripped the rig and all the rest of the crap off at 9.25 looking forward to a new project but unfortunately have to go on a course next week
