  1. Machine gun towers, rabid blood thirsty dogs, 25,000 V electric fence, booby traps...............all fair game if you ask me - as previously mentioned on many earlier threads, I utterly detest thieving. Hope you keep everything safe and sound timbercutter
  2. haha! 2 years use more like it!
  3. Scaffold boards - i agree...dodgy....but i think i must be a bit casual when it comes to using them having spent 3 years as a general builder before my uni days!!!!
  4. Hi guys, thanks for replys! The stumpy is new and being delivered next week. It weighs 600kg so the ramps are gonna need to be pretty heavy duty i guess. will check out all links and consider the offers i have been given. Thanks again
  5. Failing that............. might have to get a few scaffold boards (not ideal for the long term!)
  6. Hi guys, any one know of a distributor/seller of alluminium van ramps? I need a set to get the tracked stumper onto the back of the transit... any ideas or knowledge of who do them much appreciated Thanks
  7. Beast!!!!
  8. im looking at buying the new riko trailor splitter (was at capel) and was wondering if you could advise given your experience with the current model ad15? Cheers
  9. The 28 looks like a beast too! It weighs 1 tonne - unbelievable!!!! The width is good also at 26" for access Do you know if the predators have the auto grind feature that the jo beau has (i was seriously impressed by this) you simply set the max width sweep of grinding and press the auto button - the machine then makes its sweeping cut and then re adjusts to go deeper each time!!! The lack of physical effort required is very appealing having demo'd pedestrian models and felt knackered afterwards!!
  10. degreaser is defo a good idea, and old rag to clean all that that oily gunk that gets clogged up inside casings. Keeps your saw looking nice and shiney too!!
  11. the predator looks like a hell of a machine too but not actually demo'd one. Whats the price? the jo beau is roughly speaking £16k+ the dreaded vodka and tonic! Would you recomend a Pred 26 yourself?
  12. Makes you really think - stay safe out there
  13. Also thinking out loud - what are insurance costs like for stumpgrinders, particularly fully hydraulic units?
  14. i've been thinking along these lines for a while too..... i should imagine that the small nose would be great for pollarding and other refined pruning where a deft touch is required!!
  15. i wanted to get a hitchclimber setup but the trusty plastic was already on the point of melting! Be interested to hear how you get on with it hama?
  16. thats good to know - if they can make a good chipper with quality build, then it hopefully follows that the stumper should be up to stratch!
  17. excuse the shameless bump... but any advice on suitability, and pottential on investment much appreciated?!
  18. full new rigging kit, 16mm rigging rope, mini felling bar/lever for chogging, books, isc rope grab, kit bag, crook knife, wide base tripod ladder (ordered)..... enjoyable day out
  19. Hi guys, back to my current conundrum..... stumpgrinders????? Checked out the jo beau on tracks at capel manor and was very impressed. I was particularly taken by the auto grind feature! Anyone got one or used one? opinions and thoughts please? Also can spending this kind of money on a machine result in a sensible return on investment in time? Thanks in advance, Pete
  20. if i keep your details handy, i may get in touch if i've got something big on - multiday dismantle etc
  21. Are you willing to travel to dorset?
  22. Im very grateful that people have shared their experiences of stress related problems on this thread.... I had to sit on the floor the yesterday and close my eyes to try and remove myself from all the current worries i have going on. I had a tight chest with pain, stomach pain, headache, butterflies, inability to sleep, and i was so worked up that i had physically and mentally lost the ability to speak properly without mumbling and mixing up words. I'm usually a very positive person with a great outlook, but a long series of events and situations just caught up with me yesterday and took over! Its great to know i'm not the only one out there, and reading people's share of experiences and soloutions has helped this morning, so thank you guys! I'm going to take each problem in turn and things will eventually sort themselves out, in the meantime a bit of chainsaw carving and cutting the lawn should cheer me up!!
  23. That is a sensational piece of work my friend! It is a brilliant idea all round, the stones, the bench, the location, the history etc! Seeing this has actually made my day and its only 20 past nine in the morning!! Well done mate - i just wish i had an artistic flair to create such amazing projects
  24. nice lump of ash there mate! i'm starting to feel guilty every time i ring up stuff like this for firewood - perhaps milling might lead to a better use of resources in future!!
  25. Hi Rich, nice to meet you at the capel show yesterday. As expected it took 5 hours to get back to Poole through all that traffic! Hopefully catch you at the next show.... Pete (yaffle)
