  1. Evening all, I have been struggling big time with tennis elbow for a couple of months now..... i have tried all the usual pain relief, anti inflamitories etc etc. Has anyone out there got advice with dealing with this niggling, annoying and at times very painful problem. I can't hold a cup of tea in my left hand, and squeezing out the toothpaste in the morning usually ends in agony. Oh and yes i went to the quack and he said it never completely goes away, you cant heal it, and i should rest........... yeah right, i've had 8 days off since May!! Perhaps its time to employ more lads, but in the meantime it would be heavenly to stop the pain Cheers, Pete
  2. Don't price it too cheap with the promise of more work playing on your mind.... i have found on many an occasion that the 'extra' work never materialises and i was being played in order to get the price down on the first one!! my synical view...but don't underprice it....remember - each job on its merit Best of luck
  3. I'm guilty of windows down heaters up full in the landy!
  4. I quite agree log dog..... Attitude to work and customers is very important I'm not short of work however - simply trying to come up with ways to keep hold of those hard earn £££'s for longer!!
  5. Mark your bang on there mate....the sarnie thing costs a fortune if you get pre made food. I keep telling the lads to make there own lunch but they insist on popping to tescos!! I reckon they do a good 6-8 quid a day each! all ads up like you say
  6. I got one enquiry from the yellow pages in a year.... nothing came of it. £1500 down the drain!! Another idea which im unsure about, is to ask local indian take aways for unwanted cooking oil for putting in the saws. A friend who makes his own bio diesel says that because the indian takeaways only use the oil once to do popadum's its very clean!!! Would cooking oil be any good in the saws or am i better of sticking to the 'proper stuff'?
  7. Evening all, my mind was wondering on the way home this evening and I couldn't help but wonder what cost cutting measure i could take..... Recently i have secured a chip tipping site for free (unlimited) which will save me £21 a load i was paying at my local green waste depot. I also cut right back on my advertising and stick with the small local mags and the internet (which i take care of myself) that actually get results (bye bye yellow pages!) Buying two stroke in bulk rather than in 1 litre bottles. 2nd class as apposed to 1st class stamps for mail. Thinking about where im driving to and whether i could group quotes, jobs, and running errands together, leading to a saving on fuel. I would love to hear of any suggestions that you guys have got regarding saving a few quid or just simply becoming more efficient..... Times are tough and every pound saved is a huge bonus in these uncertain times. Many thanks in advance.... Pete
  8. I felt it could do with a some more independant articles, maybee some case studies....not just advertorials!! i understand that is how they make their money but you know that the verdict will always favour the product - comparisons are always better. I think it would be a good read every couple of months though (need as much arb related stuff to read as possible to keep the addiction fuelled!)
  9. Blood boiling...... I must refrain from reading posts i know are going to wind me up!!
  10. I agree, get it fixed and keep it....allways good to have a back up. I dont sell saws on.... they may not all get used every day, but when they are i'm glad i've got them!
  11. Great pics Matt.... could you point me in the right direction to the whereabouts of blandford forest? im not very familar with your neck of the woods! Pete
  12. That is brilliant!! looks all set to have thousands of pint glasses placed upon it!
  13. that is awesome MAB, you could set up a woodland trail with different carvings to discover! great work
  14. im enjoying this thread....looking forward to an answer on the above question too!
  15. this has made me think i could do with the same sort of security on my 90. Glad you got it back mate
  16. i wish i had a creative side.....whenever i try and have a go at carving i have a mental block and end up doing a 3 legged stool or mushroom!!! I commend you guys who can produce such brilliant pieces of wood art
  17. Thanks skyhuck...im going to have to really look into this. didn't have a clue that id require that for a transit and chipper!
  18. I am very very confused....might be because i've been up since 5-30am! Once and for all, do i need to change anything/get an hgv license/tacho etc for my transit tipper and chipper combo? The whole thing is utter nonsense, if changes like this are to be enforced the gov should be advertising it either at half time during a big televised match or just before the 6 o'clock news...at least you would have a chance of knowing what new stealth (tax) they are aiming to rob us with is!
  19. just finished Alan sugars new book - 'the way i see it' moved onto 'the woodland year' by Ben Law, which im really enjoying. Dont tend to read fiction but i've always got my head in a book!
  20. wow- the wellingtona mushrooms are unbelievable!! feeling very inspired
  21. awesome work mate - love that gnarly looking lump with all sorts of twists and truns in it!
  22. Thanks nick... as you say, thats gonna be above that sensible cut off mark once the delivery is covered. Never mind - i shall keep my eyes and ears open!
  23. Nick for future reference....how much would delivery be to dorset (Poole area). Not in a position to order any at the moment but it would be good to get a rough idea of haulage costs for when i get a suitable yard (current yard requires a 1 mile trip offroad to get to it with the landy so no good for your big truck!) Thanks in advance, Pete.
  24. 91 Chainsaws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! apart from the obvious....what did you do with them all?!!!
